Hey. Sorry for acting weird the past couple of days. The ghosts definitely took a toll on me.

I'm fine. Exhausted, but fine.

Sealing the gap took a lot out of me.

What else did you do? Did you see somebody you shouldn't have?

Ami has been taking care of my needs. So has Archer. I'm getting better.

Mostly I fought ghosts. And yes. Actually. I saw someone I'd rather not have ever seen again.

[ archer again... good thing this is through text, because rei might sense athena feeling hesitant with her response. ]

Same here! But I thought that it was a normal thing???
I saw Simon, so...

I saw someone that I killed years ago. If you want to talk about it, I'd rather do that in person. I don't trust the network for that sort of conversation.

I can imagine seeing Simon hit you hard.

I have work in about two hours, so I can only stay for a short while.
I need to work harder, since I haven't gone to work in almost three days!!
And yes, it did! But I'm bouncing back up. Simon wouldn't want me to be upset, anyway :)

I haven't been since the ghost attacks started. I worked from home a little the last couple though.

And yes, I don't mind a short visit. The cafe is on your way to me anyway. I'll leave the door unlocked, just come in.

[ athena doesn't even bother replying. instead, she grabs her jacket and heads out, dropping by a food stall on her way home. no tea, but instead, she brings ramen instead! (she's hungry, ok.)

as the doors slide open, athena calls out to rei. ]

Hey! I'm here now.

[Rei's sitting in the living room with a tablet, drawing a little and surrounded by papers. Once the door opens, she closes out of her application and sets it and the paperwork aside in a quick but tidy stack.]

Hey there. Sorry about the mess.

[It's just a few papers. And a half-eaten bag of chips...]

Come in, make yourself at home.

[ she sets the plastic bag with two bowls of ramen stacked on top the other on the table before looking at rei. athena inspects her, concerned for her friend's well-being. she can tell that the girl's tired, and hopes that at least a visit from a friend would help her condition! ]

Archer's not here?

[Rei's eyes flicker from Athena to the bags, a delighted spark in them. She's definitely beat, and definitely hungry.]

No, he's at his restaurant. I can call him, if you need him?

Oh, it's fine. You don't have to.

[ she turns to get the bowls of ramen out of the bag, as well as the chopsticks. ]

I hope you don't mind some ramen. I think hot soup would be good for you.

Alright.

[Rei claps her hands together and grins happily.]

Absolutely I don't mind. That sounds perfect right now. Thank you.

Great!

[ with a cheery smile, she takes a seat and gets ready to eat. of course, she wouldn't start without rei! ]

I've never seen the shop that I bought these from before, so I'm guessing it's a new place. I hope the ramen tastes good.

[Rei gets prepared too, snapping her chopsticks and all.]

I'm sure that it'll be just fine. That was very thoughtful of you!

[And starting in, it's...actually pretty okay! At least, it's not MYSTERY FOOD Y. You know, Minako's cooking...]

So, how many people helped... get rid of the ghosts?

[Rei thinks it over around a bite of slurped noodles. It's good, and she happily replies.]

Fifteen or twenty? Give or take a few. The actual sealing only had a few people, but there were people there who helped protect us while we sealed things off like Prince Kael'thas and Illidan.

I don't know who they are... But are they your friends, too?

Um. [She smiles vaguely, waving her chopstick hand around another bite...deliberately letting her sleeves fall down to show a copper bracelet.]

Illidan is, and the other Night Elf here, Tyrande. The Prince I just met. But he seems interested in learning more about me because of my relationship with the two of them. He's the prince of the Sun Elves, and a wizard. He actually made me this bracelet for my birthday.

[She holds it up under Athena's gaze, extremely pleased with it despite how ordinary it seems. The only odd bit about it is a slightly unnatural sheen to it.]

It's enchanted.

[ don't tell her it's magical without expounding on it, rei! ]

What does it do?

Oh! Well.

[Right, she forgets you don't do that sort of stuff, sorry...]

It's the sort of thing that lets me hold more energy. So if I was going to draw magic out of the air to make fire, I can draw more. It's irrelevant to Mars, since her limits are...much different. But for me? It's quite a big difference.

When...I'm not so exhausted even trying would knock me into a migraine.

[ she doesn't understand what it's like to have abilities like that, but hearing rei talk about what the bracelet does makes her smile. ]

That's great, then! It must be really helpful.

It has been, yes. It helped me during the attacks. I didn't have to change so quickly.

[And that means a lot to her.]

Anyway. That's who all helped. Jack made the ice, I made the seal, and we did a lot more work to make the seal really strong. It shouldn't break, not easily. And good thing to, if what the ghosts told me is true.

[Athena hopefully would've gotten the colony-wide memo about what was behind the wall...]

[ she did, but being apathetic meant not caring or even reading the whole thing. :') ]
