Thirteenth Prayer: A Flash of the Future [Video/Action]
[It's been nearly two years in Luceti, and Rei's come to realize that things are very different for her than they were initially. Then, she'd been so focused on getting home, getting back to the fight, and finishing what she'd started. But everything that'd happened since that time had given her other things to focus on, other people to care about besides just the Senshi, and a semblance of happiness she'd not had at home. People to trust, a shrine to call her own, and a way to grow stronger without having to rely in the power of Mars and that link to the past. It was nice, having that life, even the experiments and friends randomly disappearing were better than being dead.
Haruhi's departure had been a little shocking, but then...every time someone left it meant they were just going back to the life they'd been stolen from. Even as much as she'd grown attached to the place, going home still felt right, like it was the way things should go. After all, destiny could only be put off for so long. Which she knew all to well applied to her, that she shouldn't wish too hard to delay the inevitable, but all the same she couldn't quite bring herself to hope for that. Even if you knew you'd come back, and everything would be alright in the end, there was something oddly morbid about wishing for death.
Rather than dwell on it, though, Rei does what she does best: she moves on with her life with a sigh. Today is Setsubun after all, so inevitably, she finds herself in the shrine. After a while she decides to perform a flame reading of her own future, something she's been putting off for a while. Unsurprisingly the results are too much of a jumble to make much sense, though Fenimore is beginning to feature more prominently in them. Disappointed that she couldn't get more, she decides to set up a broadcast because even if she can't get a proper Setsubun ceremony going this year, Rei feels she should at least do something.]

Good afternoon, Luceti, and welcome to any New Feathers that have just arrived. For those of you that do not know me, my name is Rei Hino and I run Tsukino Shrine, across the river from the Flame building. It's a peaceful place and it's open to visitors at any time, regardless of spiritual beliefs.
As today is a sort of traditional festival day in my world, I'll be offering fortune telling and flame readings to anyone who visits today. If you have an interest in knowing a bit more about your future, your luck, or other things, feel free to come by and I will be happy to help you.
Also, I was wondering if anyone knows much about carpentry. There are some parts of the shrine that are beginning to get a little worn and some improvements I'd like to make, though I need some help with that. Any assistance or advice would be appreciated. I'm more than happy to offer what services I can in return. Baking, limited enchanting, exorcisms, omamori and other charms, or even just help with yardwork.
[And she bows to the camera before turning off the feed.]
[As promised, Rei is at the shrine, and while she'll be replying to journals she'd prefer in person visits!]

Sorry for my dad's behavior. It's just how he is and I know a lot of people don't really like him.
[ action ]
[ action ]
[But they're not here to talk about his dad, he's here for his fortune being told.]
But anyway, where do we go so you can read my fortune?
[ action ]
[She points to a trough of water and a dipper]
But you need to wash your hands first, that's important. Excess energy may foul up the magic. I'll go get things ready inside while you do that. And please take off your shoes before coming in.
[And up she goes, slipping inside the little building.]
[ action ]
We don't have shrines like this where I'm from, so I'm really excited about this. I've never had my fortune told before.
[ action ]
You haven't? Truly? What sort of world are you from, where there aren't any temples?
[ action ]
Nope, this'll be my first time. And I'm not sure why we don't have temples, but I'm from Earth. More specifically a town called West City.
[ action ]
[The way she says is makes it seem like that should just explain everything...]
[ action ]
[He seriously doesn't know where or what that is.]

[ action ]
[Though now that he thinks about it...]
Would you like to start reading my fortune though? I don't know how much more you have to prepare for it.
[ action ] What do you want her to see?
I need you to write your name first. On the parchment here.
[ action ]
Sure, I can do that.
[He takes the brush and writes his full name in stylish English letters almost like cursive but with his own flare to it on the piece of parchment paper. After finishing, he sets the brush down and looks at Rei.]
I'd like to see my future if it's possible.
[ action ]
It comes a moment later, and she turns to Trunks, holding out her hands.]
I need your hands, please.
[ action ]
[Holding hands with a girl? Well he's done it before, so he holds out his own hands for Rei to take.]
[ action ]
Rei takes his hands firmly and then shares her vision with him. It isn't a complex one, fairly simple in fact. It's a room in a house, probably his room, and Trunks is staring into a mirror. In the mirror is a reflection of himself, though leaner, with harder, more weathered features. His clothes are torn, and his eyes are haunted, while the one looking into the mirror is the same one in front of her.
The mirrored Trunks smiles, and the real one frowns, and then the vision ends.
Releasing her grip on his fingers, Rei pulls back with a half smile.]
I'm not entirely sure what it means, but it's...a fairly neutral fortune, if anything.
[ action ]
That guy you saw, he wasn't just a reflection. He's me from another time and... There's a lot of feelings I have about him.
[ action ]
Another time? You mean an alternate reality?
[ action ]
No, I mean an alternate time altogether. He's from a future that didn't happen in my world because he came back to prevent it and in essence saved my world from becoming like his. The only reason I know is because of my mom and my best friend Gohan, I've never met him before in my life. And sometimes I wonder if the reason he never came back to see us is because he doesn't want to see me.
[ action ]
And what was with this guy? He...was pretty depressed, and while she could sympathize, it made her wonder about him. Was he just this melodramatic, or was he really that bad off? They'd just met, after all.]
And why would you think that, Trunks-san? If he's you, then why would that happen?
[ action ]
...Maybe I'm wrong. But then I guess the reason I feel that way is there's a lot of things I don't know about him. We could be completely different people personality wise and part of me is afraid to meet him because of that. What if we don't get along or hate each other? I wish mom and Gohan told me more about him.
action ]
[ action ]
Maybe you're right. But I'm sorry for saying all this stuff and bothering you also wasting your time having to listen. I hope you can forgive me.
