[Sorry, Rei-- she was one of the few (if only) people he knew here that dealt with the ghosts in person prior to this, and there wasn't really anyone else he could go to with a spirit-sensitive perspective to this crazy mess.
He does notice that look she shoots him at his question, however, and he can't help but look a little peevish back. That whole scenario can wait until she was finished with her story.
