"Maybe not. The Arcane is still a rag for bird cages, but they may have some real sources somewhere," Rei says with a laugh, polishing off her own drink and picking up a cookie to nibble on.

That question was one they'd all struggled with. And they had no good answer.

"I have no idea why. I mean, it seems like a lot of trouble, especially since some of us obviously have supernatural talents. I won't even pretend to guess what that means."
