faithfulflame | Second Prayer: A Proper Greeting and Mysterious Arrivals[Video/Action]

Backdated to March 16th

[Early on the morning of her fifth day in Luceti, Rei Hino leaves the house she shares with the other Senshi to go about her business for the day when she is surprised to find two very familiar faces perched in a tree not far from the house. Excitedly, Rei calls out happily to a pair of large, black crows]

Phobos?! Deimos?! Is that you?!

[The birds CAW loudly and wing down, happily skipping around on the ground at her feet. These birds had been her friends and companions for many years, and...without them it just wouldn't be as comfortable for her in this odd land. Plans now forgotten, Rei spends the morning playing with Phobos and Deimos, walking all around the village in her Miko robe with the two birds flapping around with her. Anyone unfamiliar with Rei catching the spectacle might be incredibly taken aback by just how familiar the corvids seem with the strange girl, actually allowing her to gently touch them, quorking happily]

[Later that afternoon, a Video feed will start up over the journal system.

Rei is sitting on a bench outside, fiddling with the journal for a moment before setting it down and standing up to address the camera properly. Her speech is very formal, and unlike her last broadcast, she sounds much more calm and collected, despite the pair of crows that peer into the camera a few times during the broadcast]

Good Afternoon everyone. I would like to take a moment to properly introduce myself when I'm not screaming and worrying about everything. My name is Rei Hino, and I am from Tokyo, Japan. I would like to apologize for my outburst the other day, and especially to anyone that I may have yelled at or been rude to.

I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone that helped me when I arrived. I promise that I won't ever forget it. Additionally, I want to thank everyone who helped take care of my friends Mizuno Ami-san, and Tsukino Usagi-san in the time before I arrived. They are very, very dear to me and I am glad that they seem to have found the inhabitants of this village to be welcoming and kind. They have told me many good things about many of you, so I look forward to meeting you.

And...I gather from other broadcasts its customary to ask a question. So, my question is this: What are the spirits of this land like? Are they kind and helpful, or are they capricious and mean? Also, I would like to know more about the spirits of your homelands. Studying such things is one of my fondest hobbies, so I am very curious.

W-well, just.. a little.. [ she's pouting, sob, Ami, why did you spill that!! But as long as Rei looks happy with them they're already a little less scary.. ]

I've never been friends with crows before, but.. so it's really possible, huh? In that case, I should try and become friends with Rei-chan's friends too!

Its ok. They won't bite or peck. Just don't try and touch them if they don't want you to.

[She smiles kindly]

They take time to get used to people though. Take it slow.

I always take things slow! You know me, Rei-chan! [ no, Usagi, it's exactly since she knows how you are that she's telling you.. ]

... I'll cry though if they bite or peck me, you know. Definitely..!

Then I'll tell them not to. [Rei will look at Phobos and Deimos and waggle a finger]

Don't you go pecking Usagi-chan, you hear? [The crows...look from one girl to the next, and quork, though one skips a few inches closer to Usagi]

Why don't you try saying hello?

[ Okay, she told them to not peck, so.. it's okay, right? That's right, it's definitely okay! She's just.. squatting down to be on a more even level with the crow, even if she's still looking somewhat hesitant. ]

Um.. good day! I'm Usagi, nice to meet you..?

[The bird looks up at Usagi and CAWWWS loudly, quirking its head to the left slightly after]

Thats his way of saying hello. Here, why don't you try feeding him?

[Rei will hand Usagi a little bit of birdseed, leftovers from their breakfast]

He may poke you a little with his beak, but he won't hurt you so don't be scared

[ Well, if they exchanged greeting that's a start! So Usagi does seem to get a little more enthusiastic, nodding as she takes the seeds from Rei and slooowly moves her hand with them out towards the bird. ]

Like this, right? A-- and if it does hurt, it's your fault, Rei-chan! But.. I trust you.

[Gently, the birds to peck at the seed, but not really hard. They know better, since Rei told them not to]

See? Its alright. Doesn't it tickle a bit?

A little bit.. ehehe, it feels a little funny!

[ she looks at the birds, now smiling a little. ]

I guess they weren't that scary after all, huh..?

Nope, only to you, and evil spirits.

Its funny, in my world, they attacked you. Back when we first met. I thought you were a Youkai or a demon or something, so I smacked you on the head with an Ofuda scroll. [She giggles a bit at the fond memory]

H-hey! Smacking people on the head is rude, Rei-chan, really rude!

[ She pouts at the other girl, rubbing her forehead as if it happened to her personally right now - even though it obviously didn't. ]

I don't know if it was the same for your world, but I was right. There was a Youma trying to do things at the shrine. Its when I found out I was Sailor Mars. So...me hitting you on the head is really how we became friends. I don't regret it at all.

No, we didn't become friends at all because of you hitting me on the head..! That just would've hurt! [ for a moment she makes a slight whining sound. ]

We became friends after you became Sailor Mars-- ah, well, first you didn't want to join us, but don't worry, you did in the end!

Well, of course I did. Its fate, you know. Its kind of bad to argue with your destiny and all.

Even you have to agree there, Usagi-chan.

... Geez.. Rei-chan, I don't want to be friends with you guys because of some fate or something like that!

[ Isn't that what Ami had said too? That she had just wanted to be friends because they were both sailor soldiers, but.. that wasn't true, not at all. ]

I want to be friends just because we met and became friends.

I didn't mean it that way, you know. You guys are my family. But, it doesn't change the fact that it was fated for us to meet. We became friends because we met.

Well, it's difficult to become friends without meeting!

Well...duh Usagi

And what do you think guided us to meet?

Does there really need to be something guiding it?

No, I guess not. [Talking to the wrong person Usagi, this is definitely a half-hearted acquiescence]

But...you do believe in my fortunes right?

You mean.. what you see in the fire and all? [ a blink. ] Of course I believe in that! Rei-chan wouldn't lie about that!

Right. Well...for me, Fate is kind of the same thing. Its a religious thing, Usagi-chan. But if Usagi-chan wants to believe something else, thats fine too!
