faithfulflame | Second Prayer: A Proper Greeting and Mysterious Arrivals[Video/Action]

Backdated to March 16th

[Early on the morning of her fifth day in Luceti, Rei Hino leaves the house she shares with the other Senshi to go about her business for the day when she is surprised to find two very familiar faces perched in a tree not far from the house. Excitedly, Rei calls out happily to a pair of large, black crows]

Phobos?! Deimos?! Is that you?!

[The birds CAW loudly and wing down, happily skipping around on the ground at her feet. These birds had been her friends and companions for many years, and...without them it just wouldn't be as comfortable for her in this odd land. Plans now forgotten, Rei spends the morning playing with Phobos and Deimos, walking all around the village in her Miko robe with the two birds flapping around with her. Anyone unfamiliar with Rei catching the spectacle might be incredibly taken aback by just how familiar the corvids seem with the strange girl, actually allowing her to gently touch them, quorking happily]

[Later that afternoon, a Video feed will start up over the journal system.

Rei is sitting on a bench outside, fiddling with the journal for a moment before setting it down and standing up to address the camera properly. Her speech is very formal, and unlike her last broadcast, she sounds much more calm and collected, despite the pair of crows that peer into the camera a few times during the broadcast]

Good Afternoon everyone. I would like to take a moment to properly introduce myself when I'm not screaming and worrying about everything. My name is Rei Hino, and I am from Tokyo, Japan. I would like to apologize for my outburst the other day, and especially to anyone that I may have yelled at or been rude to.

I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone that helped me when I arrived. I promise that I won't ever forget it. Additionally, I want to thank everyone who helped take care of my friends Mizuno Ami-san, and Tsukino Usagi-san in the time before I arrived. They are very, very dear to me and I am glad that they seem to have found the inhabitants of this village to be welcoming and kind. They have told me many good things about many of you, so I look forward to meeting you.

And...I gather from other broadcasts its customary to ask a question. So, my question is this: What are the spirits of this land like? Are they kind and helpful, or are they capricious and mean? Also, I would like to know more about the spirits of your homelands. Studying such things is one of my fondest hobbies, so I am very curious.

Well, Usagi's safe. You should be too. [Matter of factly stated. She's not going to argue with Ami on this one. All her friends should be safe]

How do we get more patches?

[There's no way to answer that but directly.]

We take on missions for the Malnosso.

[Yes, she'll even work for the enemy if it means helping Usagi.]

What...sort of missions, Ami-chan?

[She's...not averse to the idea if it means her friends are safe. Surely Ami knows that. Loyalty and duty...]

So far, infiltration and information-gathering. I went as a medic with one group.

Because your a doctor...right. So, nothing that we haven't done before?

[She sounds encouraged. This may be easier than she thought]

[It depends on the mission, really.]

Rei-chan, could it be you're planning to try to get one?

[She's not sure if she should offer to help, or offer to stay with Usagi.]

Ami-chan. Do you really even need to ask that question?

[If HER Rei is anything like...well...her...the answer to that question is obvious]

[But... She doesn't like the idea of Rei at risk.]

You could get hurt.

I'm a Senshi just like you. If I don't fight, then...I'm not doing my duty to you and Usagi-chan.

I won't stop you.

What do you want me to do in the meantime?

Watch out for Usagi-chan? Gather information? Stay safe yourself? What is it you do most of the time?

[You say this like she's leaving you forever Ami...trying to guilt her out of not going?]

[She's just touchy about things that split them all up; she does understand.]

Well thats good. I mean, I don't plan on doing this right away, but I see getting a patch for you to be a proper goal to work towards.

Speaking of, is there anything you think I could do to help out around the village? Or even just you and Usagi-chan?

You might be needed to protect the people. And I think everyone needs guidance in this type of situation. You can help them with your fortunes and advice.

True, I didn't think of that. I figured that my powers would be useful. But...it doesn't seem like there is anything like a shrine in town. Where would I offer flame readings and such?

You could offer them anywhere. We could find somewhere suitable. You could purify it, couldn't you?

Of course. All it takes is water, and some herbs I've already seen in the shop. And good will, of course.

We'll come with you. Usagi-chan and I will come with you to help you find a suitable place. We'll do as much as we can to help.

I'd appreciate it. And you two can be the first to receive a fortune, of course!

[Ami smiles, relaxing a little more finally.]

Eh? [Ami gives Rei a quick, surprised, look.] Rei-chan, even without doing a reading you can see the future?
