Good afternoon everyone. For those of you who have not met me, my name is Rei Hino. I would like to extend my warmest greetings to all of the New Feathers. I'm sure that you will find something that you enjoy here, and that you will be able to make many friends. If you need any help, please feel free to contact me at any time.

On to other matters, though. Its taken me some time, but I have managed to prepare and purify a small area on the edge of the forest where I can perform flame readings and other types of fortune telling. I do not have much in the way of a shrine, merely a tent and a small consecrated area with which to work, so I hope that doesn't reflect poorly on the experience. In my world, I am a priestess, and I'm fortunate enough to have a gift when it comes to doing such things. If anyone is interested, I will happily use my blessings to offer a reading of your future. It would be my greatest honor to provide my services.

While I cannot guarantee perfect results thanks to our hosts weakening my powers, I feel that its not out of my reach to offer answers to simple questions that you may have about your near future. All that you need to provide is a question and a single hair for a flame reading, or just your question for other types of fortune telling. I have a set of tarot cards if anyone prefers that, but I'm more confident in my abilities at flame visions.

I hope that you find my fortune telling to be enjoyable!

[Rei can be found at the site depicted on the map for most of the day. Its simple enough, a tent that she and the other senshi had found in the item shop, erected as a sort of open air shrine with a carefully prepared brazier on the outside. Near the center is a small round table she'd hauled out of her house, and at the entrance is a bucket of purified water meant to cleanse oneself before a reading. A pair of crows, Phobos and Deimos, dart playfully around the area, hopefully adding to the impression of the site.

Rei greets anyone who comes by with a happy smile and a great deal of enjoyment. She loves using her gifts, and if it brings a measure of peace or enjoyment to someone she's more than glad]

(OOC: If you have Rei do a reading, I'll offer up a generic enough fortune, since they tend to be very vague most of the time. However, if you wish for something more specific or want to use the reading to set something up for future plans, foreshadowing, whatever, please speak with me and we can work out some details! Hit me up in a PM and we can work from there.)

...Thanks. Well, think m'gonna worry 'bout it more when I get there... if I get there. [What makes it quite 'iffy' is the whole issue of logic where fighting Donkey Kong is concerned. But anyway, there are other matters vying for his attention, particularly the looming Malnosso threat.]

Not in particular, but somewhere suited to the spirit you're trying to contact would probably be best, I think. You should be able to do it easily, being Mars.

Whatever happens in the end, there will probably be fighting. We should be sure Usagi-chan stays out of it.

[And with that, the powerful magical girl turns back into something a bit more human, shifting back into the younger, softer Rei Hino. Her shoulders slump slightly, like she's genuinely exhausted and she wobbles over to one of her chairs. For a long, long moment she just stares into the brazier, firelight dancing in her eyes. When she speaks again, her voice is strained, upset but trying to put a brave face on it. Mars had given her the strength she needed to be able to converse again.]

Thank you, Harry. My friends and I...we...really don't want to expose ourselves too much. I know that you're a man of your word, and that when you make a promise you'll keep it. I sincerely feel you are a good man, and that's something I've found to be very, very rare. Whatever it was that you did, I wish you hadn't, but maybe something good came of it after all. Fate weaves as it will, who am I to question it?

Can you explain to me what you did? If you understand me as completely as I feel I understand you, then I would appreciate some answers.

As always. Though I've got a feeling we're going to need her strength too.

[It's not too easy to say this, but...]

It's better if she doesn't fight. It's not that we won't help her, and protect each other. But I don't want Usagi-chan to have to go through that.

[And always, when Usagi is still so young, there's the worry of what battle and stress can bring out.]

[Without any muss or fuss Castiel does as he's told, and sits as directed.]

It's a simple test to see if your magic and mine is compatible.

[With a smile Sabriel holds out her hand.]

Take my hand and try to will your power into the link. So long as we stay connected then the power between us should double.

[Don puts out his hands, but doesn't yet touch Rei. He can never refuse knowledge, no matter how terrible it might be.]

Will it hurt you?

[Gee. They've only spoken a few minutes and he's quite certain there is definitely good friend-potential here.]

Same goes with you too, awright?

I'll see the vision again. That's all. It won't hurt, but it won't be pleasant for either of us to see.

[Don certainly can't refuse now. He takes a deep breath, and puts his hands in Rei's.]

[Rei takes her hand and does just that, concentrating and willing her powers just as instructed]

I don't either, but...we may need her. I don't relish the thought of battle either, you know?

[It's twice Rei's hinted at that now, and it gives Ami pause.]

Are you saying you've seen something? That our enemy will be that powerful?

[She falls silent a moment. That makes her own perspective slightly different.]

I know, maybe it can't be helped. And we'll be with her. It might be alright.

[Rei takes the hair quietly, and walks over to the flames. She drops it into the brazier where it ignites in a puff of smoke before clapping twice, bowing, and kneeling on the ground. Her eyes focus intently onto the fire, which twists and curls, forming a vision. After a long moment, she blinks and turns, a mysterious smile forming at the edges of her lips.]

Castiel, the flames tell me that you will have both troubled times and much joy here. I regret that I can't give you anything more specific. Your destiny is clouded, unfortunately. All I was able to glean was that you will make friends here, but like all of us...there are rough times ahead.

I will try. Thank you.

[and she turns back to the flames]

[Donatello's mind clouds over, the light of day giving way to a sinking darkness. The void is murky, the entire scene obscured like viewing the bottom of a lake through the surface. A singularly massive weight presses down over the scene, an inescapable gravity that dominates all other feelings. Far below, under the object is an inky abyss, a well from which no light can escape.

Rei pulls back, shaking her head and waveringly taking a seat on the floor]

Don-san, do you understand what that means?

Ami-chan, I saw a bit about our future. We're going to be forced to fight.

[She shrugs]

We were all there, and there were others from Luceti. I guess that it might have been a draft.

Another draft?

['Another', because she's gone twice, and that's in addition to her missions, in addition to her death during one of their experiments, in addition to finally going home only to find herself back here a few years later.

She doesn't have much patience left for the Malnosso.]

Is that what their ultimatum was leading to?

[For a moment there is nothing in the connection save for the warmth of Rei's hand in hers. Then comes a faint pulse, a push...and then the familiar sensation of power being added to her own, like a river of strength flowing down Rei's arm and into hers.]

It works!

O..OH!

[Rei can feel it too, surprise forming across her normally quiet, reserved face. She's never felt anything quite like this...in this form. Its a warm feeling, a conjoining of her spiritual power and Sabriel's own magic.]
