Good afternoon everyone. For those of you who have not met me, my name is Rei Hino. I would like to extend my warmest greetings to all of the New Feathers. I'm sure that you will find something that you enjoy here, and that you will be able to make many friends. If you need any help, please feel free to contact me at any time.

On to other matters, though. Its taken me some time, but I have managed to prepare and purify a small area on the edge of the forest where I can perform flame readings and other types of fortune telling. I do not have much in the way of a shrine, merely a tent and a small consecrated area with which to work, so I hope that doesn't reflect poorly on the experience. In my world, I am a priestess, and I'm fortunate enough to have a gift when it comes to doing such things. If anyone is interested, I will happily use my blessings to offer a reading of your future. It would be my greatest honor to provide my services.

While I cannot guarantee perfect results thanks to our hosts weakening my powers, I feel that its not out of my reach to offer answers to simple questions that you may have about your near future. All that you need to provide is a question and a single hair for a flame reading, or just your question for other types of fortune telling. I have a set of tarot cards if anyone prefers that, but I'm more confident in my abilities at flame visions.

[Rei can be found at the site depicted on the map for most of the day. Its simple enough, a tent that she and the other senshi had found in the item shop, erected as a sort of open air shrine with a carefully prepared brazier on the outside. Near the center is a small round table she'd hauled out of her house, and at the entrance is a bucket of purified water meant to cleanse oneself before a reading. A pair of crows, Phobos and Deimos, dart playfully around the area, hopefully adding to the impression of the site.

Rei greets anyone who comes by with a happy smile and a great deal of enjoyment. She loves using her gifts, and if it brings a measure of peace or enjoyment to someone she's more than glad]

(OOC: If you have Rei do a reading, I'll offer up a generic enough fortune, since they tend to be very vague most of the time. However, if you wish for something more specific or want to use the reading to set something up for future plans, foreshadowing, whatever, please speak with me and we can work out some details! [Ami could use some advice herself, or at least some guidance, or maybe she really just wants to know (think) it'll be alright. The recent missions (and Rei's involvement as Mars), and now the Malnosso's demands have not left her at her most relaxed.

More importantly, it's a chance to see Rei, so Ami finds herself heading to the tent. She stays outside at first, to be sure no one's already catching a private word and to avoid barging in. Her voice carries well enough, though she keeps it soft.]

[Rei calls out softly, happy to hear her friend came to see her. The Malnosso's threat hadn't left the priestess in the best of moods, which was why she decided to make the offer. The flames always calmed her down, and helping others did wonders]

[Viral doesn't hear the journal post because he's out with his bow again, sharpening his disused archery skills on hapless tree branches or small game. He intended on finding a means to cook his prey--no worries. He was a hunter that understood the value of the natural resources.

The scent of smoke from the brazier catches his attention before he sees the tent. Likewise the crows. He has to step out into the clearing to get a better look at the tent itself and the dark haired young woman manning it.]

Well. This is interesting.

Ah, good afternoon!

[Rei hears him approach, and is already on her feet when he enters, wearing a welcoming smile. She recognizes him from before, but is fairly sure he doesn't know who SHE is]

Would you like a fortune?

[Simple curiosity, right? It was the reason he'd slipped out of Community House 2 for the afternoon. After the conversations he'd been forced to have recently and now the demands from the Malnosso, he was more than welcome for a little distraction. To be honest, he wasn't much for fortune-telling. Nothing wrong with it, of course, but it just wasn't his cup of tea.

But something about the flame reading in particular had intrigued him. Whether he was looking for a true answer or not wasn't really on his mind.

It takes him a short while to locate the tent, approaching it quietly at first. Didn't wanna walk in on someone else being spoken to, after all...]

Hope I'm not interrupting anything. Mind if I speak to you?

[Rei stands up and smiles, bowing politely.]

Of course, sir. What can I do for you?

Fortune-tellin', huh...? [He's a bit skeptical of this (must have been all those inaccurate fortune cookies messages,) but he's more than a little curious because Rei has a compelling way with words here and Luceti has proved to be a place where few things seemed impossible.]

This is for real?

[A look of wonder settles over his features.]

Absolutely. In my home country, I perform this ritual all the time. If you are interested, or skeptical, please come and see me.

[She's used to this, of course, especially from non-Japanese]

[He had not met her or sensed her presence before, but somehow this woman was a bit familiar to Obi-Wan.

Regardless, his meditations had proven to be of little help, and he did not wish to further trouble Luke or Adele. He was having a great deal of difficulty controlling the guilt and pain since it had come back, and now he felt off-center, unstable. It was disquieting, to say the least.

And so he comes to the sanctified site, bowing respectfully before her.]

[... Whatever ritual she had used to sanctify this place must have had some validity to it, because as soon as he entered the area, he sensed a calming, tranquil aura through the Force, as if that purity were washing away the pain he struggled with.]

[Rei immediately recognizes the man as Obi-Wan Kenobi, the Jedi Knight Mars had met on the mission. Ami had mentioned offhandedly that another Jedi had recognized Mercury, so she wonders if this man will do the same. He looks off though, troubled somehow. She politely waves to the man and gestures for him to come inside]

Good afternoon, sir. Can I help you?

She had expressed an interest in the group, and now she was offering a demonstration in her own magical abilities. I couldn't in good conscience pass up the opportunity.

When I entered the sanctified area, I could feel it- it felt like holy ground, like consecrated churches... like the home of Michael Carpenter, but peaceful and less full of life. It was less pronounced than those other places, but for one person working a ritual in this mystical near-void it was still pretty impressive.

I stepped inside the tent and nodded- wondering if perhaps I was actually supposed to bow.

"Hey. Harry Dresden, we spoke the other day. I was wondering if you'd be willing to perform that divination ritual for me."

[Rei stands and bows, nodding cheerfully when she heard is request. Yes, bowing is polite Harry, but she doesn't expect it from a non-Japanese person.]

Yes, we did. Its nice to meet you Mr. Dresden. Please come in, and I'll be happy to read your future.

[She gestures to the bucket of water]

First, I'll need you to purify yourself. Pour a small bit of water over your left hand, then right. Then drink a sip, and wash your drinking hand once more. Then, I'll need a single hair, and we'll see what the flames have to say.

Hey you two. [Yup, greeting the two crows first. But then a nod for Rei.] So how goes the fortune telling? Get any interesting customers?

[Phobos and Deimos scraw down at Marco, happy to be recognized. They land around Rei's feet as she walks out to greet the odd man]

Its going rather well, Marco-san. I've had quite a few interesting customers, and more than a few very interesting fortunes told. Would you like one, too?

Oh, you have a set of tarot cards? Did you find them at the item shop, or did you make them? I've been looking for a set, you see, but I haven't managed to track one down...

Ah, I made them. Or rather, my friends and I did. We could make another set, if you want?

Huh.. Rei-chan, you're going to tell people's fortunes here? [ Usagi doesn't bother to come over just yet (the idea seems a little scary, even if it's exciting) but she's glancing over the journals all the same. ]

A lot of people would be interested in that sort of thing, I'm sure..

Of course Usagi-chan! Why wouldn't I? Its something I love doing!

[She slyly changes her tone, trying to entice the other girl]

You should come out and get one...

[Castiel approaches the site on foot instead of just zapping into there. He's been doing a lot more walking than flying lately.

He stops beside the water, washes himself carefully, and then removes his shoes before stepping onto holy ground. However, he doesn't approach the table, and simply takes a seat on the ground just beyond the tent and closes his eyes. Apparently he just wants to chill in this serenity and...take a nap or something.]

[Rei notices this almost right away, but doesn't immediately say or do anything. Whoever it is is welcome to do whatever they'd like. She doesn't really have much in the way of a shrine, but if they find peace here, she's extremely happy to provide. That...is sort of the goal of a shrine too

After an hour or so, however, if he's still there she may walk over and kneel downquietly, covering him with a shawl she had underneath the tent. ]

Poor guy, wonder whats wrong...[She murmurs this barely above a whisper, hoping not to disturb him]

[She doesn't believe in fortunes. Fate. The inevitable. Not normally, anyway. But the longer she stays in this place, the more she cannot help but wonder about fate. Paths that don't branch out as much as she might think.

Adele is quiet, contemplative as she makes her way to the indicated shrine. Rei was settling in, it seemed, and for that? She was glad. It's a reading of the future. There was nothing there that should be alarming. Nothing the girl should see that Adele wouldn't want her to know.

At least she hopes as much.

Once she's certain that she will not be disturbing anyone, she calls out softly.]

[Rei notices the older woman approaching long before she actually arrives. Part of the reason she'd chosen this spot was to watch for people, so she could be prepared when they came. She stokes the flame with a poker, preparing them for another reading.

When Adele calls out, Rei answers in a cheerful tone. She's happy that the doctor had come. Her talk with Sailor Mars, unknowingly, had left the faintest glimmer of hope that she'd come to the fortune readings. Any good priest wanted to open new people up to the ideas of their religion, and Rei was no exception. Adele's initial meeting with the girl had given her a sense of pity, after all.]

Adele-san? Please, come in.

[ Upon hearing the offering Rei has given to the village Helios will make his way off towards where the makeshift shrine is. He'll stop to look around the area noting the birds and the entire air of the vicinity. It's quite natural feeling and even more so it's rather alluring. Mystical and unnatural things like this were always something he was curious about. Not having been graced with the gift of foresight he often looked to others who had it with respect. It must be a hard talent and power to have especially in a world like Luceti where things could always take a turn for the worse.

He'll greet Rei with a smile and a wave of his hand. ] Afternoon.

[Rei waves when she sees Helios wander up. She remembered speaking to him, but that was a while ago and she hadn't really had the time to follow up on their earlier meeting between setting this up, missions, and Senshi business]

Ah, Mr. Helios. Good afternoon!

[Law is doing this... for a lark. A distraction. And personal curiosity. Fortune telling, huh?

He wondered if she was like Basil Hawkins. The man never seemed to be wrong.

... the man never seemed to have much good news either. Which was an uneasy thing to drift to mind..]

[Rei waves, happy to see a new face. She's smiling and hopeful. Maybe this fortune will be a happy one?]

[Sabriel had been on her way to the forest to check on her memorial when she comes across the tent. Intrigued she takes a step closer, peeking in before blinking with surprise upon recognizing the girl within. She looked...younger than she remembered but Sabriel recognizes her despite having been Shifted during their meeting.]

[Rei turns at hearing her name and blinks. She hadn't seen Sabriel since their meeting in the tea house during the shift...and she felt bad about that. She'd meant to visit the woman, but the mission and being Mars had made that more difficult.]

Not...exactly. I'm a miko, a shrine maiden from Japan. I don't see things, I'm given visions in flames. Its not quite the same as being a Seer.

[Katie's all up for fortune telling. Because it's fun. Hopefully Rei will tell her something awesome like how she's going to singlehandedly save London from supervillains and get made a knight of England. Because...well look, every young girl has to have a dream.

She'll turn up in the afternoon, peering at Rei with a look that shifts between suspicious and shy from the treeline.]
