Third Prayer: The Future is Written in Flames [Voice/Action] Forward Dated to June 13th

Good afternoon everyone. For those of you who have not met me, my name is Rei Hino. I would like to extend my warmest greetings to all of the New Feathers. I'm sure that you will find something that you enjoy here, and that you will be able to make many friends. If you need any help, please feel free to contact me at any time.

On to other matters, though. Its taken me some time, but I have managed to prepare and purify a small area on the edge of the forest where I can perform flame readings and other types of fortune telling. I do not have much in the way of a shrine, merely a tent and a small consecrated area with which to work, so I hope that doesn't reflect poorly on the experience. In my world, I am a priestess, and I'm fortunate enough to have a gift when it comes to doing such things. If anyone is interested, I will happily use my blessings to offer a reading of your future. It would be my greatest honor to provide my services.

While I cannot guarantee perfect results thanks to our hosts weakening my powers, I feel that its not out of my reach to offer answers to simple questions that you may have about your near future. All that you need to provide is a question and a single hair for a flame reading, or just your question for other types of fortune telling. I have a set of tarot cards if anyone prefers that, but I'm more confident in my abilities at flame visions.

I hope that you find my fortune telling to be enjoyable!

[Rei can be found at the site depicted on the map for most of the day. Its simple enough, a tent that she and the other senshi had found in the item shop, erected as a sort of open air shrine with a carefully prepared brazier on the outside. Near the center is a small round table she'd hauled out of her house, and at the entrance is a bucket of purified water meant to cleanse oneself before a reading. A pair of crows, Phobos and Deimos, dart playfully around the area, hopefully adding to the impression of the site.

Rei greets anyone who comes by with a happy smile and a great deal of enjoyment. She loves using her gifts, and if it brings a measure of peace or enjoyment to someone she's more than glad]

(OOC: If you have Rei do a reading, I'll offer up a generic enough fortune, since they tend to be very vague most of the time. However, if you wish for something more specific or want to use the reading to set something up for future plans, foreshadowing, whatever, please speak with me and we can work out some details! Hit me up in a PM and we can work from there.)

Oh? Are you sure you don't want Usagi-chan to know? It could make our lives a lot more entertaining here...

[It's a bit mean of Rei to tease so much, though Ami tries to take it in good humor. She feels young again suddenly, the nervous girl of fourteen instead of the woman who knows she can be alright.]

I'd prefer Usagi-chan not making a fuss over it. We have more important things to think about right now. Her, too.

Don't worry, your secret is safe with me. Though, you should try and spend more time with this man. Even if its just a friend, the flames don't lie. It will help give you peace, in a way.

[Rei had changed, in Ami's world, from being openly hostile to boys and even the other girls taking interest in boys, to lunging for the bouquet at Usagi's wedding at the very same moment as none other than Minako.

Ami doesn't try to hide the smile. It's probably good for Rei to be relaxed like this about it. Still, it's a little uncomfortable to be the focus of this attention.]

Rei-chan, you don't mind?

Oh? Well...um, no I don't mind. You're my friend, Ami-chan. If this Luke Skywalker can make you happy, even if its just friends, then of course I want you to see him. The vision was very clear. He's a person who's good for Ami-chan, so, why would I say anything different?

You know I don't really want to have a boy in my life. Its not for me. But I can't say that its bad for you. We're different people.

This isn't the right time for it, I know that. Anything here could be temporary - one of us could leave, and even if they came back, they could forget what happened before.

But if it wasn't like that, I might want to get to know him better like that. [Which really means she does want to, but is trying to remain logical.]

Ami-chan, you should do it anyway. I know you really do want to, you don't have to say you don't. Even if you want to think logically, you've been here for a long time, and so has he. That...statistically at least, lessens the likelyhood of you leaving, if you think of it as an average.

I'd like to see you happy, even if its just for a little while. Don't shove away a chance for peace because of what ifs!

[Soldier of flame and PASSION, Ami. Don't forget that]

[This Ami was never quite as romantically inclined as in Rei's world to begin with, though it's something she wants. It's Rei's encouragement that helps her to think this might be alright.]

But what about what happens later? I can't ignore it completely.

[Rei shakes her head. This was always Ami's problem with everything, she was too hung up on the future.]

It will work out how its supposed to, Ami-chan. Its something that you shouldn't worry overmuch about, you know? Peace is always worth opening up a little bit. Even for me.

[She just knows that she won't find it with a man]

[Maybe it's true. Maybe being happy while they're here is fine even if it doesn't last. But Ami's been hurt by Luceti before, most of all in the cruel trick of forgetting the truth and returning to the Dark Kingdom before breaking free for real. She wavers another moment.]

Rei-chan, I want to try to live that way. To find the good parts even here.

Then do it. Embrace your desire and just...do what you want to do. If that means spending time with Mr. Skywalker, then you should do it.

[Rei squeezes Ami's hands gently for a moment]

This place isn't all bad. Find a little peace here.

I know it's not all bad - I've been able to spend time with Usagi-chan again, I've made some friends here, and I've even been able to learn healing magic from Nala.

It's just that I don't want to forget home.

I don't think having a guy in your life will make you forget home, Ami-chan.

[Nothing could, really, and she knows it. Home is home]

It's too important to all of us. I'm sure Luke feels the same way. About home. And probably about you too...

I don't really know he feels... [She thinks she does, actually. Even her wariness has had to admit his kindness and interest in her seem sincere, but in typical fashion, she assumes it's entirely friendly. No more than that.]

Well, the vision indicates that he likes you. Why not spend more time with him, see where it goes?

Rei-chan, are you saying to ask a guy on a date?

[Whoa whoa, the guy should ask the girl ~~in Ami's slightly old-fashioned view~~, right?

Besides...]

Even so... whatever happens will have to be after all of this about Catherine.

[Rei blinks for a seconds and then rubs her chin, considering her next words carefully]

Yes. I think I am, Ami-chan. It can't hurt, even if its not a date and its just spending time. And yes, it should wait. I think we'll need all the happiness we can find in the coming weeks, so hold onto it.

Do you mean even when this ends, there might be more trouble coming?

Ami-chan, I don't know. It could mean anything, whats coming. Our lives could shift dramatically.

[She thinks of one thing and one thing only, first.]

You can't mean Usagi-chan will disappear! [... She should want that to happen, want Usagi to be home and with everyone. But...

But it's the first thing she thinks of that would disrupt the fragile peace she's made with being here herself.

No, wait. There's another, easier explanation. It's almost that time.]

Or do you mean the new feathers? Could someone we know be coming?

Well, there is that. But we don't know what will happen with...Catherine, or the Malnosso. For all we know we could end up in outer space fighting the enemy. Or...something else.

Nothing is certain, Ami-chan.

Then even if it's hard to do it, I want to hope for the best. I want to believe that however it gets there, it will end well. I want to believe in all of us working together to make that happen.

Mmm, we will! Don't worry. Things will all turn out alright. Or...my vision would have had a lot more darkness in it.

I can't really imagine what you must see sometimes, but Rei-chan... you help everyone by telling us your visions and helping us to prepare. Thank you for that.
