Tenth Prayer: Fanning the Flames [Action/Video]

[What a week! Rei couldn't remember a time she'd been more exhausted in her life. The minute she made it in the door of House 3 she'd just dropped into bed like a wilting flower. And she'd slept. For days. When she finally managed to get up and feel...human...again, though, she had things to address. Lots of things.

And the first thing on that list? The shrine. And preparations for a trap she planned to lay on two unwary wizards. After that, she had promises to keep and work to do. This was going to be a long day...]

Action

[Rei spends the early part of the day around Tsukino Shrine. She's been gone for more than a week, and the whole thing needs a bit of tending, just basic chores. While she works, Phobos and Deimos play around the small courtyard, flapping around merrily in the spring breeze. It's a pretty nice time, a far cry from the insane battle the week before. Anyone's welcome to come by and help out with chores, or setting up for her foray into forced match-making.

Midmorning, before she sits down to have lunch she opens her journal and sends out a broadcast. Phobos and Deimos are probably pawing around the camera, being nosy birds as usual.]

Video

Good afternoon, Luceti. This is Rei Hino. I would like to inform you that fortune telling at Tsukino Shrine will resume today as normal. I'd also like to express my sincerest condolences to anyone who was injured on the draft last week, and even more to those who lost someone in battle. Words...fail me at the moment, but if you are in need of a place to pray or find a peaceful place to think, you are welcome to use the shrine here for that. I hope you are able to find some measure of solace, however you choose to seek it. If you need me for anything, I will be here until six this evening for fortune telling or prayer services.

Additionally, I would like to ask a question. What are ways that you've learned to relieve stress? Particularly after a battle. How would you go about creating an atmosphere to help people relax? I have a small project that I'm working on down this vein, and I could use some suggestions. I would appreciate it a lot.

[A little later she sends out 3 more filtered broadcasts]

Locked to Max Woodville

Max-san, can we talk?

Locked to Okita Souji

Souji-san, if you have time, I would like to make good on my promise.

Locked to Helios Sprensonne
Helios-san, can you visit the shrine tonight at around seven? There is something very important I need to discuss with you. I'll prepare dinner, so please come hungry. This may take some time, as well. And it's a sensitive issue, so I'd appreciate it if you could leave your journal at home.

(OOC: Feel free to just drop by the shrine instead of responding to the broadcast if that suits your character better.)

[In his experience it helped to be specific when talking about those things, sure, no one cared but he had no reason to not talk about it.]

Ah, it's in the Gifu prefecture. It's rather secluded, takes an hour to get there on bike from the closest town. In a way this place is somewhat similar to it, though Luceti is smaller.

Hahaha, yeah, Hinamizawa is a very peaceful place.

[Unless there's a conspiracy trying to kill everyone or someone has a breakdown and goes on a murdering stride.]

Though it has had its share of conflict in the past. I wasn't there yet, but some years ago there was basically an all-out war against the government going on there. They wanted to turn the village into a dam and the village's people didn't like that.

I'm not exactly sure, it was a time everyone wanted to just forget. Probably because the village showed its ugliest face during those times.

I suppose the government found a better deal that was less troublesome than dealing with Hinamizawa.

It was Showa 58, the year 1983. As far as I've been able to see not many people are from around that time or before it.

[So he's not going to be surprised if she's from the future as well.]

What year was it for you?

Well, that's not that far. Only eleven years in the future.

[Only.]

I mean, I know people here who are from the next century even, so compared to that your year doesn't seem that far away. How long have you been here? I've been here for over three years now.

Ah, it hasn't been that bad! I guess I'm lucky, not that I don't want to go back but as things are now I wouldn't mind too much spending the rest of my live here. I mean, I have friends here and even a family of my own. It's little different from having moved to another country or something like that.

I could do without the experiments and the drafts though.

Well, there's little that I would have back there that I don't have here. Sure, my friends from there aren't all here and neither are my parents, but it's not something that wouldn't eventually happen anyway. Moving out from home, to another city or even another country, it all comes with growing up. I love Hinamizawa and would like to return but now I feel my home is here with my wife and Satoko.

Besides, if I return it will be to right when I left there and those three years will just vanish. Rather than a whole new life it would be like an already old life. I'm not really the type of guy who would give anything to go back to the past so I really can't say I would choose to leave if given the choice unless circumstances changed.
