[The brown alien hops down and glides over to Ami, waving his hand in greeting. If he had fingers, you bet he'd be saluting in the proper Vulcan way.]

This is Sarek. He evolved a week or so ago from an Elgyem I met down in the coastal ruins.

Ah! [She smiles and greets the little alien pokemon.] It would just so happen I have an Elgyem too.

His name is Einstein.

[She hadn't known, but it definitely seems to fit. ~~At least as well as the Martian with Mars~~.]

I hadn't known. Usagi-chan and I met Sarek when I was looking for Ravi. And he just...decided to come along. He's very thoughtful.

[Logical, actually. The Pokemon's Telepathy communicates it's thoughts to both girls, and it's a little chiding. I want to ensure that you live long and prosper, Rei. That is why I bonded with you, after all.]

And...he's a Telepath too.

Oh, there are quite a few pokemon that I met while traveling up to the mountain. [She was going to introduce them to Rei and the other girls.]

Einstein is thoughtful as well, though perhaps a bit... cynical. [With high intelligence often came lack of idealism, in a sense.]

Well, it's a pleasure to meet you, Sarek. [She offered to the pokemon.] Perhaps Einstein will love meeting you.

Likewise, Ami Mizuno. Logically the two of us would have a great deal in common. After all, we are of the same species. Perhaps I can get him to come around to see things more positively. I'm told that I am quite convincing.

Logically, yes. [She chuckles.] I shall have him join us upon arrival to our destination, if that is agreeable to you, Sarek? I would greatly appreciate your involvement with him. I would like for him to see that life is not nearly as pessimistic as he implies.

Completely so, yes.

[Rei gave her Pokemon a little smile and nodded.]

Whenever you're ready to go, Ami-chan, just tell Sarek.

I am ready to go, Re-chan, Sarek-san. [Ami wondered what it would feel like to teleport? She'd never done it before. She wondered if she could ask Sarek to explain the process to her.]

[Rei nods, and in a flash of light Sarek transports them to the Flower Grove. The Beheyeem himself appears right on top of a Jigglypuff, unfortunately, and the puffball squawks indignantly!]

[Ami is quick to adjust her footing and helps the Jigglypuff out from underneath the Beheyeem. She lightly strokes her ears. She notices that Aurora is currently sitting low to the ground, her tail swishing back and forth even as she clearly has some minor Confusion. Minnie on the other hand is on her back with a wing over her eyes. Alright, she is never teleporting again, not when she has perfectly good wings!]

My! What an experience! Thank you, Sarek, I think everyone arrived intact and mostly the same as they were.

Naturally.

[The alien nods apologetically to the Jigglypuff, who inflates and flumps off angrily. New noisy neighbors! Can't a girl even get her beauty rest without aliens landing on their head.]

Well, are...you all alright? Minnie, Aurora, what's wrong?

They are merely unused to it, this is their first time as well. I think it's just a shock to their system. [She crouched down and helped Minnie to her talon and then over to Aurora. She smiled.]

I guess it is different than the warp band. Ah, speaking of...

[Out came a certain alien-like pokemon. He looked all around, at Ami and Rei and said nothing at first. Then he noticed Sarek.]

Is it really?

[Rei would offer to help but it seems Ami has everything well in hand, so she starts poking about for a place to set up a basecamp.

Sarek, on the other hand, waves a little alien hand over at Einstein. Hey alien-bro, how’s it going?]

I could not say for sure. I have never traveled via the warp band.

[Einstein looks up. Hello, alien-bro, and not awful. His bonded is pretty nice, doesn't treat him like the stereotype he's sure you understand.

You and yours?]

Well, that's fair.

[This place seems as good as any!

Sarek dips his head in acknowledgement. His own definitely doesn't treat him like the stereotype. In fact, she listens to him most of the time, and seems to accept his advice as the most logical and reliable course of action most of the time.

As for him, he's well. He's newly evolved, you see. It was a bit necessary to keep up with his friend. When Ravi evolved, he felt it was time to do the same, after all.]

Actually, there's something I wanted to tell you, Rei-chan, about the training in the mountains.

[My bonded is incredibly intelligent. We have many logical discussions although she's very... optimistic, almost idealistic. You would even enjoy speaking with her, I conclude.

You evolved to keep up with your friend? Would he have stopped being your friend had you not?]

Ho? What's that?

[Probably so. My bonded is also rather intelligent, and driven. Not quite so idealistic, a touch jaded but getting better, and very defined in how she interacts with the world at large. You'd do well to speak with her yourself.

As for Ravi? No. I evolved so that we would remain in sync. We've known one another for a long time. I'm sure you've seen a Natu before. We were allies, and by evolving I can better protect him. As he can better protect me. It shares the burden.]

I evolved! But not just myself, Darwin as well.

[She called the eevee, but he was no longer an eevee. No, instead he was a glaceon. He shifted this way and that.]

Yes, though it was not my intention to train near ice rock, that is what inevitably happened.

[Logical, but perhaps contingent on emotional attachment. That could lead you to a precarious position.]

Did you now?

[Rei can’t help but grin, just a bit, at the news. The Glaceon too, that’s cute, but Ami’s change is more the forefront of her thoughts.]

What changed? What can you do now, that you couldn’t before?

[Ravi is a part of my trainer’s party as well. Does it not stand, logically, that I should endeavor to evolve to better protect my ally, my trainer, and the people around me?]

[She holds out her hand, and suddenly ice starts forming all around it, all the way up her arm.] I can manipulate the air molecules in the air and hyper freeze it, I can do the same to beads of sweat along the skin and water in general. I also now run much colder. I can let it completely encase my body without affecting any vital organs. Or at least, I'm rather sure, more tests would need to be done on that. But so far, 4 hours is more than doable.

[She reached out and touched Rei's hand, her hands incredibly cold.]

In the water, I can do even more. It's not just ice in the air. I can draw the water molecules in oxygen to my hand and do pokemon attacks like water pulse, whirlpool, and a few other moves. I'm not nearly as dependent on the temperature as I was before.

[Rei would shiver if her own hands weren't so unnaturally hot that it counteracted the feeling, making it all rather normal. What an interesting thing though, how she's balanced out.]

That's very interesting. It's...certainly not all that different from my evolution, anyway. Only, do you have to be in water to generate attacks? [That is a little different, but then maybe Rei's ability to create Fire is a side effect of her psychic typing.]

I assume you've tested it.

No, though it strengthens them like the moves sunny day might strengthen yours. But as I said, I am able to pull enough water from the air and ground to formulate the attacks, if necessary. If in dire need, I can pull it from my own body.

And of course, it wouldn't be advisable to not know my own body in such an important matter.

So you do things sort of the same way I do. I...amplify heat, generally my own, and attack with it. I can pull it from the air, but that's harder, unless, like you said...it's sunny.

Does it exhaust you quickly?

It has the potential to kill me, as the body is made of more than 70% of water and I am physically expelling it from my body in such a fashion. But it would only be in dire need. [She says it in such a matter-of-fact way.]

Well...then I guess you really shouldn't do that. [She definitely doesn't like that idea.]

I suppose that is a difference. My body has excess heat, and seems to have adapted to use that. But I guess we're all different in our own ways.
