[Rei's lip twists into something akin to a sneer at the thought of Ardeo, anger flecking through her emotions.]
It's not a god. It's just a powerful spirit. And it's...intentions...are meaningless. It's fire, Leia-san. So it's fickle, capricious. When I spoke to it, it turned from friendly to furious in a heartbeat.
I don't think it's intentions have any meaning, whatsoever.
[It's not like Leia believes in the whole god thing either. The Force, sure. She believes in that. Gods...not at all. So, she shares Rei's anger and disgust at the whole situation.]
God, spirit, it doesn't mean anything. They're both end up annoying people, from what I can gather. As far as it being the embodiment of Fire, I can't say that I disbelieve. Winding up in a volcano really makes that obvious.
[She sighs, feeling every inch of aching and tiredness that she's experienced the last few days.]
I don't really care about its intentions, truth be told. I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I'd rather be in the colony right now, CERES or not.
[Rei won't comment on the nature of divinity. She lives that reality, and it's...complicated.]
Whether or not you care, it's just so alien that it probably can't even begin to fathom that statement. I mean, I'm sure you deal with aliens regularly, but they all probably eat and breathe and drink and to the kinds of things that living beings do.
[Her fists clench up, knuckles going white.]
Frankly I agree with you. I want to return to the colony myself. [Her voice shakes, and she's coming dangerously close to a meltdown.] I want...to not be separated from my friends, I don't really care where I am, so long as I'm not alone.
I've dealt with aliens that are...beyond our understanding before. Although, I believe my brother had actual contact with them so he'd know more about their actual habits. I was more inclined to believe they were just...too unlike us. [She smiles, but it's sour.] I'm not as hopeful as Luke.
However, you do know that you're not alone. I'm aware that I'm not at all like your young friends, but I do happen to like you, Rei. [She looks around at the assembled group around them, as awkward and different as they all are.] Besides, there are a lot of people here who could use your help and expertise with the element of fire.
These are. It's like talking to Fire, or Water, or Air, or Earth. I've conversed with three of them, and it's been all the same.
[Her eyes flicker up to meet Leia's, and her lips twitch in a brittle, bitter little expression.]
You're...a friend, yes. And there are others here that I like. I know I'm not physically alone but, and don't take this the wrong way, it's different with them. It's...especially trying now. [Her thoughts turn to a certain blonde, a surge of unhappiness swelling inside the young priestess, and something akin to a broken heart. Love, taken away.] We...Minako-chan and I finally figured things out. And now she's gone.
[She would have to ignore everything screaming at her from the young woman and her own eyes to not realize the importance of Rei's statement.]
I know that feeling. [She paused, her mind lapsing back to Bespin, Vader and Han being flash-frozen in carbonite.] A little too well, actually.
Listen to me, Rei. We need to find a way back to our loved ones. Just sitting here brooding can't help anyone. Let me help you get back to your friends. We need a plan.
[The sound of Leia's voice makes Rei flinch slightly. The feelings wafting from the older woman are not pleasant, and call to mind quite a lot.]
I...am not sure how you plan to do that. I know full well that brooding can't help, but I have no idea what else to do. I can't navigate out of these caves, and even then, I'm low on supplies.
[Yes, well, Leia's life has not been all parties and ballgowns. Some parts of it kinda sucked.]
I don't have anything definitive yet, but I also don't know the full capabilities of those we're trapped with. I've seen so few in action since I arrived that it's hard to plan ahead much.
What I need is someone to help me assess our current situation and how to get out as many people as humanly possible.
[Leia sighed as she looked around.]
I've been able to heal a few people of burns, but that was the biggest injury we've had so far. Aside from the boy who appears to have...melted, everyone is physically fine. If not hungry, dirty and tired.
[Rei is actually somewhat confused by the statement, her sense perplexed. Completely so. Yes, Leia knows she can manipulate fire, but Mars? No, Leia's not on the list. The other Leia is...but...]
I mean, there are some very powerful individuals here. If you want information, I guesS I can tell you about them.
Rei, are you alright? After we all passed out down there, I wasn't exactly sure what would happen next. Have you seen either of your friends yet? Please respond ASAP.
No, I can't say that I've seen it. I am missing a pendant that was given to me by a young woman. Gold chain, emerald tear drop. It was locked away before we were kidnapped and seems to have disappeared while we were gone.
I suppose I will have to ask on the network. There are worse things than that, I'm sure, but the fact that our privacy was violated while we were gone doesn't actually surprise me.
I'm only curious as to how many times it's happened before without our knowledge.

[Even Mars needs water.]
What are you thinking, though?

Leia
Thank you
I'm fine. I'm just fine. I was in the bath. Ami-chan and Minako-chan are here with me. We all woke up together.
Are you and Solo-san doing okay?
npnp, that's what friends are for~
Good. Have you heard from any of the other people we were trapped with? I am checking in with those I know first.
And Han's fine. He's still asleep. We've been in some pretty similar situations before.

And you? Who have you heard from?
no subject
Everyone appears to be well. You and your friends were the last I had yet to hear from, which is why I contacted you instead.
Have you noticed anything missing from your apartment?
no subject
And yes, actually. My bird's perch is gone. An old coat-rack with felt on the prongs. Have you seen it? I've heard of things going missing.

But you may want to, yes. I'll just have to make Phobos and Deimos a new perch.

Is there anything else missing? I can keep an eye out while I patrol later today.

Take care, Leia-san.
