It was impossible to tell what was sacrificed there, but there was undoubtedly evidence of the practice. There was a great deal of spiritual energy there as well.

Did you sense any sort of dark energy to it? Such practices are never wholesome, but it could have been something simpler, like animals.

No, but I am not very adept at doing so. I could not tell either way which sort of spiritual energy it was, just that it existed in large part there.

There was something not quite right about it, but I am afraid that is all I know for sure.

In the caves the only thing of interest I found was simply some paintings on the walls. Scorched in, really. They were of odd human-like beings, and most notable to me were the gilled beings I told you I'd seen after I encountered those specters a few weeks ago.

The natives, then. [It's the logical conclusion.]

We were unable to find any or speak with any of the natives here. And yourselves?

We ran into some native structures, but they wouldn't show themselves. Ardeo said it was due to what happened at the jungle village.

That would make sense. They had no reason to trust us in the first place, and then we harmed their living place either way.

It could not have endeared them to us.
