"Ah well, productive, yes... he's sly. He made sure that I was on a moving vehicle so as to ensure I would have to stay put and listen." Although, if she felt trapped enough, it wouldn't have been impossible for her to escape at red lights and the sorts.
"We ah... well... you see, that's why... I think I might be ill. Because I just... I- well I had the very lucid hallucination that Tadashi asked me out. And... clearly... I mean, all things considered, yes, please check my temperature."
Ah that is fairly sly of him. Rei can't help but think a bit more highly of Tadashi for coming up with that plan. And what Ami says next? well that brings a big smile to her lips as she does precisely as asked. Placing one hand on Ami's forehead, she waits...shakes her head, and lets it drop.
"You're not running a fever. He really must have asked you out."
"I talked to him about looking out for his own happiness, and living for himself a little. About not letting opportunities slip by. It was a little existential, yes...but it wasn't wholly so. I just...tried to give him a pep talk."
She pauses, rooting out another napkin.
"You were hardly the focus of the conversation really. But I definitely knew he was thinking of you."
Well, she's glad she wasn't the focus, Ami was always high strung, she didn't want to have people talking about her. She barely liked them talking about her when she was around, never mind when she wasn't even there. Though Rei knew that, so she wasn't too worried.
She took the napkin.
"Please tell me this gets easier, because I can't keep coming to work like this."
"Oh, Ami." No honorific. Those were just pet-names at this point anyway. They were closer than family as it stood. "Yes it gets easier. You relax and become more comfortable with it. Even I was a fidgeting mess for the first day or so after I confessed."
She put on the helmet, getting on behind Rei and wrapping her arms around the senshi of fire's waist. She smiled and pressed her forehead to Rei's shoulder.
"Thank you... and thank you also for helping Tadashi," because it wasn't about her. Yes, it eventually involved her, but she had been trying like crazy to get Tadashi to see that things were different, that this was all different. She wanted the other to be happy, regardless of whether or not she was in the picture.
"I just don't like seeing people wallow in despair," Rei say simply. "He deserves better than that. and you need a little something to smile about too. Now, let's see what Archer's got ready for dinner."

Had... in fact, always wanted to take her out on a date.
She may or may not be emitting literal and figurative steam from her burning cheeks.

"I figured that he would," the priestess says with a wry smile, reaching into her pack for a wet napkin and offering it to Ami.
"And you might want to clean your face. You're sweating."

Can't imagine why."Wait... you knew? How?" she takes the wet napkin, still embarrassed but makes use of it anyways.
"What do you mean you figured? I know he said you talked to him but... I thought it was more existential, more... 'live your life' and the sort."

She holds out a spare helmet for Ami. In blue, of course.
"You know I'm happy for you, right?"
