Somehow I really, really doubt you're in the mood for pizza. Found this place that has some really good yakitori if you're interested though. I'll text you the address.
[And true to his word he shows up at the restaurant a little before twenty minutes is up. Since it's his treat, he figures he should be a little early. He would have been earlier, too, if his little bird friend didn't seem so sad and could fly faster. By the time Rei shows up Hiro's sitting on the ground trying to coax the bird toward him. Please tell him to get up, Rei, this is a dumb idea.]
[Rei and her tiny fox are both right on time, though the skittish little thing isn't exactly rushing over to greet Hiro. It's not hard to infer what her friend is doing, but...]
I don't think they can interact with the physical world.
[He's not at all surprised that Rei understands and he grins up at her, even as his hand remains extended to the bird.] Any idea what they are? It doesn't like to get left behind.
I have no idea. I've never seen anything like them before. It could just be a representation of our elements, but it could be something else. I'd need more information to really speculate.
Lunch. [He nods in agreement and gets to his feet, whistling for the bird to follow.] If you've got other theories I'd love to hear them. I'm still trying to figure everything out.
[But he'll lead and there they go into the restaurant and they're quickly seated and presented with menus.]
[Rei hums to herself quietly and orders something fairly cheap, but seemingly homey. Japanese comfort food, really.]
Theories I'm a little lax on. They could be some sort of manifestation of the spirits from this world. Mine looks a little worse for wear. What about yours?
[He's following her lead because comfort food is something they could probably both use after everything and once that's ordered and one of the serving robots brings him a cup of soda he looks down at his little bird friend.]
He can't fly. He keeps trying but he's getting nowhere. Think maybe one of his wings is broken. But that means that the spirits are hurt. How can we help?
[The question gets a frown. That was a good thing to ask, but...]
This may sound harsh, but do we want to? I mean, these things are probably tied to the elementals. The injuries could be a result of the sacrifices stopping. A weakening. And isn't that a good thing?
[Her hands tighten on the edge of the table as she watches her fox.]
...it's a good thing, sure, but is it really fair that now they're suffering because the Bridge messed up and we stopped her? That doesn't seem right either. [But that's the idealist in him. (That's the morality Tadashi and Baymax instilled in him, really.) Nobody has to get hurt, so why does this planet seem set on that?]
There's gotta be an answer. I just don't know what it is yet. [The little bird's curious though, hopping toward Rei and chirping up at her. She may not hear it, of course, but Hiro's watching it closely.] As usual we're finding way more problems than solutions.
Ordinarily I would agree, yes. It's not fair, but it's not just the Bridge benefiting from the sacrifices. It's equally unfair for us to have to be used as lambs for the slaughter. It's predatory. [And she won't stand for it.]
But if there's a way to make these whole again without the need for blood, then I am on board. Of course that would require an answer for the million questions we already have not figured out yet.
And we don't even know who to ask. [...well that's not true, he has some ideas. But it's a person project he swore would be kept to himself.] Us being here and at their mercy is already predatory as it is. But I guess I feel bad anyway. They seem pretty harmless no matter how you look at it.
[So harmless, in fact, that the bird's right up against Rei's foot. If she moves at all, she'll kick the poor thing.] What would we even ask? "Hey what are these floating animal things?"
[She shifts her weight a little, and that freezes her up, something hitting her. A memory? Either way, answering questions isn't on the table right now.]
[Hiro at first doesn't realize what's happening seeing how he's still theorizing to himself. However, that's enough time for that bird to indeed pull her into a memory and for Hiro to belatedly realize it.
Thankfully, it's something quick, something brief but something...sort of happy, perhaps. It's a beautiful day in San Fransokyo and the city's as bustling as could be. The sun's out, people are on their way to work or school or wherever they may wish to go...
...and there's a trolley whose brakes are out suddenly careening down a steep hill on its tracks, filled to the brim with people screaming and panicking. There's the round of what appears to be rockets as Baymax and Hiro suddenly zoom overhead to get to the bottom of the hill, Hiro jumping off and somersaulting up to his feet just short of that. He seems to be yelling out orders via his helmet and one by one the rest of his team appear. Wasabi's lasers cut through anything in the trolley's way to lessen the damage and Fred's supersuit stretches as he tries to stop the cart from the back. When that doesn't work he jumps up up and away, landing near Honey Lemon who's using her chemballs to create small trampolines, little safety nets for people to bounce on and out of harm's way as Go Go uses her speed to her advantage to work on getting people out of the cart. Whoever doesn't land on one of Honey's creations lands in Fred's arms. It's clear from their work that they're a well-oiled machine by now and work in tandem, Hiro calling the shots from his place at the bottom of the hill as the cart comes at him and Baymax hard and fast.
Once it reaches the bottom of the hill Baymax digs his heels into the ground and pushes back, metal grinding and straining, the ground deteriorating as the cart comes to a complete and total stop and Hiro takes off his helmet as the five humans join the robot. The older four are busy checking with civilians and coordinating with police, typical hero things, but Hiro approaches Baymax and holds up his fist for the robot.
"Nice job, buddy." And the pair connect for a fistbump. Balalalalalala.
And just like that the memory fades. Rei will find that Hiro's staring at her with wide eyes and his face is a little more pale as he slumps a bit to take a few deep breaths. What the hell was that about?]
[This is pretty much the last thing Rei had expected to see when she realized what was happening. She's not put off by this in the slightest, it just...wow. This is actually extremely strange, if she's being honest. The boy in the suit, and the laser-guy are both just...weird. Honey Lemon, on the other hand, is almost comical, and the whole thing just reminds her of a children's cartoon. Like if someone took an American comic book and made it for younger teenagers. And included Baymax.
It's not bad though, and when it does fade out, Rei's smiling quietly to herself. And immediately reaching into her bag for stomach pills. She's been through this before already, with Yuri and Illidan. So...sliding those on over.]
That was very bold of you, Hiro. Stopping that trolley.
[Thanks Disney. He knows to someone like Rei it would probably look a little silly, so when she speaks all he can do is groan. It's hard to say if it's out of embarrassment for his superhero stunts or out of the suddenly heavy, sour feeling in his stomach. He presses a hand to his forehead, eyeing the pills suspiciously but not quite taking them. He's still a dumb boy with some of his pride, okay.]
So...that's what you saw? Guess it could have been worse. That wasn't long before I got here. [...wherever there was. What was the name of the city again?]
[Cocking her head to one side, she sets the pills there in front of him.]
Yes, that is. It could’ve been a lot worse, I’m sure. You made it through just fine. [Everyone has dark sides, and then there were all the embarrassing memories that came with being a young teenage boy…
And because he’s being a prickly pear.]
You’re nauseous, take the medicine. That’s the side effect of these little interludes, Hiro. There’s no point in suffering through it, even for pride.
I'm fine. [It's a pretty weak argument though, considering he hiccups then and sinks lower in his chair...before pulling the pills closer anyway. Sigh. Life is hard when you're stubborn. He takes another few deep breaths before popping pills into his mouth, pulling another face as he basically dry-swallows them and reaches a hand up to massage his eyes again.]
Anybody figure out why these are the side effects we're stuck with? I already had to deal with this when I got back into the colony.
A chakra is a point on the body that holds energy. It's a Buddhist belief, but it makes sense. There are places in us, knots of nerves or other things, that cluster together. The groin, the stomach, the heart, the eyes, and a few other points. The stomach is the core, and you know how getting hurt can make you nauseous? This is sort of the same idea. Whatever's happening is affecting us because it hurts. Maybe on a spiritual level.
Okay we both know I'm not good at those things...[A grin.] I'm really bad at meditation. It's way too quiet. [And since he can't see her fox, it means his foot is stretching just right in its path.] What else ya got?

I forget do you want a memory?
That I couldn't say. Maybe it's getting to us in our core chakra? That can cause nausea.
if you have one in mind, yes! otherwise don't worry too much :>
I'll think on it!

[Things Hiro Hamada doesn't get: that.]

[She says, not paying much attention to her own...and it's edging closer.]
Breathing exercises, meditation, things of that nature are good for settling it down, or at least fighting the nausea.
