[Rei blinks at the sound of that voice, that...absolutely disgusting looking man. What the hell was this nonsense!? This was just disgusting, and that flashy display from Illidan wasn't going go unaided!
Reaching into her own lab coat she pulls out a slip of paper, not a transformation pen as that would be too obvious, and holds it up. It stiffens in her fingers, going rigid, and then her fingers snap forward to fling it at the madman. It catches ablaze with purifying blue flames as it flies towards him, and the priestess shouts out:]
[They're even then, because Jack is very selective when it comes to being touchy. There definitely is a little voice at the back of his mind that is panicking about this, but the nurse's drugs is stronger, and so Jack just keeps enjoying the dancing.
...the question is good though.]
I don't know, but it's fun! What's the problem, miko-chan, not a music fan?
[Illidan's eyes returned to their original gruesome state, but he didn't return the blindfold to it rightful place in case he may have to do a follow up attack. He keeps on guard as the smoke from their collective attacks starts to clear. The scent of burning... everything overpowered the room.
He quickly grew confused, because he could see nothing. No traces of the evil they had attacked remained. Had it teleported away? No, he would have caught onto that. They must have killed it, and it would seem as though they had both greatly overestimated its abilities. Well then it was a rare moment indeed when Illidan actually regrets not holding back in a fight.]
If my eyes do not deceive me [Which he knew they didn't. Just feigning humility.] I would say our foe has been dispatched.
[Along with a part of the poor unsuspecting room.]
[Rei blinked in surprise too. ViViD was never this easy, and she almost always had to transform. But...the guy was gone. She couldn't feel the taint so strongly, just what lingered.
And the smell, of course, was not at all pleasant. Wrinkling her nose she folded her arms and huffed. Seriously, you'd think that the inside of a video game wouldn't reek so badly, but it very, very much does.]
So it would seem. CERES is...as mercurial as ever.
[And from the other side of the damaged wall? There's a sound. The shifting of chains, a groan, and a muted cry for help.]
And unless I miss my guess, this is where they hit us where it hurts. Some illusion. But we may as well go see, yes?
[He cast Rei a curious look, then turned towards the source of the noises, and slowly made his way forward. Something he saw caught his interest, something familiar- but no, that couldn't be. He stepped through the door, and as soon as he did, he froze in place, his scowl intensifying tenfold. He went to look to Rei, then at the figure strapped to the table who showed something of a resemblance to Illidan, then back to Rei, as if she was somehow going to magically deal with the man on the table for him. Since he clearly wanted nothing to do with it.
So caught up in his own troubles he didn't quite notice the other figure in the room, or didn't care to. He could barely be bothered to register to condition of his own twin, aside from being on an table and possibly possibly sleeping...again'. He was just so caught off-guard by it all that he just blurted out the first question that came to mind.]
Just how in the world did you manage to get yourself captured? Did you just fall asleep through this too?
[Rei walks up beside Illidan, eyes focused on the other figure. A young woman tied down in the same manner as the man. Her eyebrows furrowed, and her face twisted into something new. A mask of real, genuine rage. Her fist, tiny though it was, slammed down against the table. Her lip quivered as she began undoing the straps, just in case.]
Ami-chan. I know this isn't you. [She tears at the buckle all the same.] And whoever that is? Isn't real. It's just code. But freeing them will probably break the illusion so we can move on with our lives. [She turns as she gets half of Ami's straps off.]
[Illidan gives a disgusted snort in his brother's direction, before going over to the one Rei seemed to know. He apparently held the stranger in higher regard than his brother.]
He's my twin brother.
[He offers his aide in snapping the remaining bindings with ease, as his brother stirs behind him. He grumbles a half asleep "Illidan?", which his brother promptly ignored and addresses Rei.]
[Rei isn't going to ask. Family drama is not her thing. But Rei's own expression is anything but happy.]
Ami Mizuno. A close friend. Someone I work with, at home. and someone who is decidedly not here.
[The shape groans out a "Rei-chan?" before Rei jerks her head to one side.]
I'm not going to let my hopes be brought up by this again. This is the third time they've done this, bringing a friend from home into these games they play. It's not real, and neither is your brother.
[Ami...seems somehow hurt by this, whimpering sadly and reaching out. Rei does take the hand, automatically, but she doesn't look.]
I do wish you were here, dear. But...CERES, please stop.
[If it's that and him not being a complete jerkface, she'll relax. She visible lets out a breath and starts to move in time with the waltz. She's a good dancer, and there's no reason to be so on edge. May as well get the dance done with.]
CERES really knows how to make things irritating, don't they?
Perhaps it is simply my opinion, but this is not the sort of place I would wish a comrade to be. If anything her leaving this wretched place should be a consolation.
[Well, he made and effort to make her feel less bad. Probably didn't work, but he tried. It was something to do to ignore his brother's more coherent inquiries as to what was going on, and 'how he had been doing'. Really, who tries to start small talk tied to a table?]
Well, she is free of her bindings and yet remains. Is she well enough to walk or doe she need to carried?
[While he did not care for the idea of carrying damsels around on a hunt, this was apparently a friend of about one of the only allies he had here. Though he didn't quite think about the fact that the young woman may not want him anywhere near her, given his appearance.]
No, no. I'd rather nobody be here. But if they are here? Then I know for a certainty where they are, and doubt is removed. And together, my friends and I are stronger. We work well together, as a team.
[Sadly, she eyes the false Ami.]
And she looks alright. Come on, Ami-chan, get up.
[The shadow tries to, and as her feet touch the floor? She fades out, vanishing like all the rest.]
[Illidan watched as the woman who had been there simply vanished, and having already offered his feeble attempt at condolences, he instead decided to use this new found knowledge to deal with his brother. Without warning he simply gave the table his brother was strapped to a good hard kick and toppled it over on it's side, his twin letting out a yelp as he went down with it. However as he had failed to unstrap his brother from his bindings beforehand- his brother remained.
His brother seemed to be taking the matter with far more grace than Illidan was, letting out a sigh and addressing his brother with a calm and stern, if a bit exasperated tone, "Illidan, this is hardly the time for this. Please, I am sure we will all have time to hate each other later."
Illidan, of course, chooses to ignore him, and speak to only Rei instead.]
[Rei scowls at Malfurion, wondering why he'd stayed but Ami hadn't. The answer was obvious, though, and she pulls out her knife and walks over to the enormous, horned Night Elf.]
Hold still...
[And rather than stab the elf, as Illidan may have liked? She starts cutting the bindings.]
[The other elf offers her a smile, and while not intentionally trying to antagonize his brother, begins to babble on about how she must be Illidan's friend, and how perhaps she may be able to guild him down a more natural path. While also implying he was very surprised Illidan had made friends.
Finally Illidan could not ignore his brother's cheerfully patronizing blathering any longer.]
Get over yourself brother. [And he goes back to speaking to Rei.] You should just leave him there. He can spend the day strapped to the table.
[Rei simply ignores Malfurion. She doesn't really want to listen to this, and while he seems pleasant enough, he's not real. So she looks back to Illidan.]
[ His search turns up empty as well. Just then, he heard the tell tale roar of yet another monster patient heading their way. At least, there's something to keep them occupied? ]
We have company...
[ Unlocking his guns, he turns toward the direction of the roar, ready to shoot whatever coming their way. ]
