[Rei isn't going to ask. Family drama is not her thing. But Rei's own expression is anything but happy.]
Ami Mizuno. A close friend. Someone I work with, at home. and someone who is decidedly not here.
[The shape groans out a "Rei-chan?" before Rei jerks her head to one side.]
I'm not going to let my hopes be brought up by this again. This is the third time they've done this, bringing a friend from home into these games they play. It's not real, and neither is your brother.
[Ami...seems somehow hurt by this, whimpering sadly and reaching out. Rei does take the hand, automatically, but she doesn't look.]
I do wish you were here, dear. But...CERES, please stop.
Perhaps it is simply my opinion, but this is not the sort of place I would wish a comrade to be. If anything her leaving this wretched place should be a consolation.
[Well, he made and effort to make her feel less bad. Probably didn't work, but he tried. It was something to do to ignore his brother's more coherent inquiries as to what was going on, and 'how he had been doing'. Really, who tries to start small talk tied to a table?]
Well, she is free of her bindings and yet remains. Is she well enough to walk or doe she need to carried?
[While he did not care for the idea of carrying damsels around on a hunt, this was apparently a friend of about one of the only allies he had here. Though he didn't quite think about the fact that the young woman may not want him anywhere near her, given his appearance.]
No, no. I'd rather nobody be here. But if they are here? Then I know for a certainty where they are, and doubt is removed. And together, my friends and I are stronger. We work well together, as a team.
[Sadly, she eyes the false Ami.]
And she looks alright. Come on, Ami-chan, get up.
[The shadow tries to, and as her feet touch the floor? She fades out, vanishing like all the rest.]
[Illidan watched as the woman who had been there simply vanished, and having already offered his feeble attempt at condolences, he instead decided to use this new found knowledge to deal with his brother. Without warning he simply gave the table his brother was strapped to a good hard kick and toppled it over on it's side, his twin letting out a yelp as he went down with it. However as he had failed to unstrap his brother from his bindings beforehand- his brother remained.
His brother seemed to be taking the matter with far more grace than Illidan was, letting out a sigh and addressing his brother with a calm and stern, if a bit exasperated tone, "Illidan, this is hardly the time for this. Please, I am sure we will all have time to hate each other later."
Illidan, of course, chooses to ignore him, and speak to only Rei instead.]
[Rei scowls at Malfurion, wondering why he'd stayed but Ami hadn't. The answer was obvious, though, and she pulls out her knife and walks over to the enormous, horned Night Elf.]
Hold still...
[And rather than stab the elf, as Illidan may have liked? She starts cutting the bindings.]
[The other elf offers her a smile, and while not intentionally trying to antagonize his brother, begins to babble on about how she must be Illidan's friend, and how perhaps she may be able to guild him down a more natural path. While also implying he was very surprised Illidan had made friends.
Finally Illidan could not ignore his brother's cheerfully patronizing blathering any longer.]
Get over yourself brother. [And he goes back to speaking to Rei.] You should just leave him there. He can spend the day strapped to the table.
[Rei simply ignores Malfurion. She doesn't really want to listen to this, and while he seems pleasant enough, he's not real. So she looks back to Illidan.]

He's still here.

Because he's bound. It's probably some metaphor.

I'd rather just end this farce.
[And just like that, she slashes the bindings.]
