[A part of Rei rankles just a little bit, just a little bit. She'd wanted to discuss Minako's birthday with her before Usagi had gotten involved, but the blonde had clearly beaten her to the punch.
She puts on a smile, pats her wyvern, and replies with no hesitation or hint of that twinge though.]
I think that sounds fine. I've not really had much time to plan anything, but I'd like to spend the evening with her, afterwards.
[Unfortunately, Usagi is completely oblivious about the matter regarding Rei's irritation, mostly because Usagi thought she was being considerate in the first place by promising to work around anything Rei had planned.]
Well, no worries, you have a few weeks and I can work around what you do. She wanted to do it in the evening, though, since it's a bonfire thing. But I can make it for the day before or after.
Being in the evening doesn't necessarily mean I can't pull her aside. I think...when I give you a signal, it'll be time for you to start pulling people away. Or at least helping me get her away from the group.
[This part is a liiiittle non-negotiable, she thinks.]
[Which leaves a lot open for interpretation, Usagi. A loooot. Feel free to assume what the Goddess of Passion has in mind, because her smile...while small...is probably telling.]
Well, then as promised, I will rent it for two days.
[She won't question, nor will she pry, the girls have always been considerate enough to never pry into what she and Mamoru did in private, she will give Rei and Minako the same courtesy.]
You're preaching to the choir, Rei-chan. Don't tell anyone, but I can't tell you how many cold showers Mamo-chan has had to rush to take because she experienced a nightmare. But she comes first, no matter what, for the both of us.
But don't worry, I'll promise her a special night with me after the party.
[Truth be told, Minako and Rei had probably been interrupted more times by Usagi causing some ruckus downstairs with her emotions than the little girl.]
But I appreciate that. I want to make Minako's first birthday with a lover something special and memorable. In my own way.
Ah thank you. I'll try to leave planning for such things like this between the two of you, be there to support it instead.
[She's always been excited for celebrating her friends, but she needs to step back like she does for Michiru and Haruka now when it comes to special occasions.]
Oh... ah yeah okay, I understand. I'm here if you need, though.

[Seriously, Rei, she does understand.]
If you want, I can book the lake cabin for the evening into the next morning?

And I'll be sure to drag Chibiusa home too.

[And Rei hasn't told her, or Helios, about the relationship.]

[Ouch, don't tell her that or she'll be depressed for days about hurting your relationship in some fashion.]
Ah... [She gets the hint, though late.] Sorry, then, that I jumped the gun.

[And while unique, it's not Rei's. But you caught yourself. So, forgiven.]
Though I think...at last in this case...I'd prefer to talk to someone more divorced from the situation if there's a problem.

Well okay, I'll keep you both posted about the lake cabin.
