[ How can she explain this... She thinks, placing her hands against red cheeks flushed with her embarrassment. What if she was wrong and Rei was perfectly fine? ]

It's just... hmm, it's just that you're... hmm! [ The smaller girl fidgets a bit while holding her breath and just when she exhales, she blurts out her thoughts. ] You're holding hands with people and that's just weird!

[Rei balks at that. Her eyes pop out and she lurches forward a little, trying hard not to laugh or be offended.

That's just ridiculous, young lady! Who are you to say it's weird!]

[ It's weird to her because it's coming from Rei. Though she does recognize it's a bit rude to phrase it like that, so she hesitates a little before giving a reply. ]

Maybe I just don't know you very well...

[Closing her eyes, she resists the urge to laugh, because holy god that's cute.]

Starting with the answer to all your worries. I am in love with Minako, and she's in love with me. We are together, like Haruka-san and Michiru-san. Or Mamoru-san and Usagi.

That's why we're holding hands a lot. Because we finally talked about our feelings, and realized we felt the same.

Really? [ Her face lights up at that, a bit too relieved to know that some alien presence wasn't to blame for Rei's change in behavior. ]

That's who I noticed it with. I thought it was strange you were close with her in a way you weren't close with Usagi.

[ That's not to say they aren't close, but there's enough of a difference for her to pick up on. ]

Does that mean she's your girlfriend?

Yes, it does. We've been dating for...maybe two months now.

Did you seriously think it was that strange, me being happy and all?

I didn't know you were happy. [ She huffs in defense of her actions, though she isn't really soured by it. The news is better than the alternative (aliens) after all. ]

I was worried you weren't the friend I knew but instead you were someone else trying to be her. That's all it was.

[ Chibiusa does take a moment bow apologetically. ] Sorry!

[ She's still inexperienced when it comes to spending time around lovers. No one her age really dates and her parents are well... her parents. It's hard to view their actions as romantic! ]

We go out when we can. She's busy, as am I, but it works out that we make time for one another.
