[In the early afternoon, people paying attention to the journal may or may not take note of a familiar scene playing out in the woods on the edge of town. An open voice-feed, clearly unintentional of an extremely confused looking girl who's definitely just arrived, and from the sounds of it is not where she expected to be...]

Uuuuaaaah? W...what sort of illusion is this?!

[An actual scream!] KYYYYAAAAA!!!!!

W..hat?! WHAT?! N...o..., its gone! But...I was just...WHAT?! Where is it?! I've got to get back...from...here and...go help the others! But first...my pen...I've got to find it? And...whats this...thing? A book?

[The feed closes with the sound of footsteps coming near, but a misplaced finger adds a photograph to the broadcast.

And today is yet a normal day in Luceti. Wait until you live through an experiment; those days are by far more 'screwed up'.

[Once at the store she hold the door open for Rei.] Usually when you arrive? Your clothing does as well. I am certain we will be able to find it.

My clothing? That...would be great. It'd be nice to have shoes again. And my robes.

[She wanders in and begins poking around, eventually picking out a white and red miko's robe, a pair of white socks, and some wooden sandals...that all seem to fit just right]

Well...they feel like mine. Funny, having my clothes in a shop in some weird world.

Because they most likely are, in fact, yours. Whatever other personal effects you had on you at the time you were taken will most likely be in the items shop.

[At this point Adele doesn't bat an eye at the robe. It's something she's distantly familiar with but not terribly much. Besides: Jedi. Best friend. Lives with a wizard. Perspective is everything.]

Right. Well...my pen was more important. Though I have to wonder why my clothes were here, and my pen with me when I woke up...

[And more correctly, why she wasn't transformed when she arrived]

Again, I greatly appreciate all of your help. Is there...perhaps...a place I could get something to eat? I'm not meaning to impose, I just could use a bit of help getting around.

In the back of your journal, in the guide, there is a map of the village and the various accommodations available. As for food, there is Seventh heaven, a pizzeria, I think they serve some food at the tea house above the welcome center, and there is...I do not know how to pronounce it. Okonmi...yuki?

Okonomiyaki? Thats...awfully Japanese for a place like this.

And yet it is present; perhaps there are many, or were many, that enjoyed it in the village at some time?

[Rei shrugs]

Its...not really my thing, but its familiar at least.

Would you rather have general cafe fare, or pizza, then? I have not yet eaten.

Um...well, pizza sounds more filling. Its not something I eat all the time, but its not every day you wind up in a strange new world.

I really appreciate you taking the time to help me. I know you must be busy, being a doctor and everything.

Pizza it is. [Adele nods and leads Rei back into the plaza, heading for the pizza parlor.]

I do not mind helping those that I can, especially since I am not needed quite as much here as I was back home. The village is calm for the moment, and no one is injured badly.

Calm for the moment? Do people get hurt here a lot?

[She's worried, if its dangerous here, then she should be keeping much closer watch on everything]

I have read and heard drafts discussed. Times when villagers are pulled from the village to fight the Malnosso's war for them.

Great...just who are they at war with?

A rogue faction of their own members, and a group called the Third Party. Most of the details and relevant history is covered in the guide in your journal. It will take some time to get through but it will answer many questions about this place.

I suppose I'll have to get to it soon then. It definitely sounds like required reading.

I'm sorry for being such a pest, ma'am.

You are no such thing Rei. I have had worse interrogations from New Feathers; you have been polite and reasonable. As such, you are not a pest, and I do not mind. [She pauses at the entrance to the pizza parlor and nods Rei inside.]

[She'll enter, and turn, politely smiling back]

Well. I can only imagine what some people would have been like. I've got a few friends who'd be much, much less reasonable.

[Easy enough to find a place to sit this time of day and, as she hadn't eaten yet, easier still to quickly choose what it was she would order.]

[Rei will sit and order the same thing, just to be safe]

Oh? Well...once I realized what was going on, it all came together. Fate brought me here, so there must be a reason.

Fate? [She quirks a brow. True, the Malnosso didn't bring them here, the world did. But. Fate? What sort of fate would pull her from a bloody night into a prison she would loathe?]

I suppose that is one way to look at it.

Madame LeBlanc, Fate has a funny way of working, and its not really our place to understand, but accept.

[YES, yes you are getting lectured by a girl twenty years your junior on Fate. When she's not freaking out, you may see that those robes aren't for show, and she's frighteningly mature]

Its where we are supposed to be, for the moment. Why fight it? Time can only reveal more.

[Another lecture on fate. Lovely. Adele represses a snort and lets the wry twist of a grin speak for itself.]

I need to keep count of how many people here tell me that we are either meant to be here, to accept the circumstances for what they are, or that it is some variation of fate or destiny. I know it is but one possible explanation for all of this but I have never put much stock in Fate. You make your own.
