She'll wait patiently, eyeing the commands he inputs cautiously. But everything seems in order, and he didn't press any buttons labeled Instant Death so...]
[Another door opens in front of them, leading to the device that is supposed to "upload" them into the game. Chambers await the two of them, and Yosuke steps into one hesitantly.]
This is totally right out of a sci-fi movie. Gotta wonder how this whole being put into the game digitally works. [He figures it probably works since they're supposedly made of code on this planet, but that's a thought he tries to push away.] Here we go. I set it for that cool hack and slash thing I told you about before. Supposed to be a medieval kinda deal.
[Rei doesn't really want to think about how these things work, either, but she'll just roll with this. Being made of code isn't any weirder than some of the stuff that's happened.]
Well, let's hope it all works out, yes?
[She steps into her chamber, puts on the glasses as the machine has instructed, and the digital world opens up to reveal...?]
[A castle! In what looks like a throne room. With strange little short things running around that kind of look like they're human, but two feet tall. They're running around yelling for help, something about the king being captured.]
Uh, yo, little dudes, calm down and tell us where to go. [They point.]
[They jabber on in some incomprehensible language, and Yosuke just sighs.]
Come on, I think they're programmed to just spaz out. I bet we gotta make our way down to the basement to get to the last level. That's kinda how these games work. [Depending on what game you play.]
[He laughs with a silly grin, hands going up and underneath his jacket to reveal a pair of large, shiny kunai that he's been hiding underneath his clothing wherever he goes now.]
I got these babies right here. After that freaky carnival, I don't go anywhere without 'em!
Nah, I didn't set it up for that. I heard whatever we do in here effects us when we're outside of it too. You know, like getting a workout and stuff.
[He embarrassingly keeps a better grip on his kunai.]
No time like the present though, right? Come on, let's go check out what's behind those doors. [He walks up to them, and pushes. It takes a lot of effort from him, because they're really heavy doors and he's not particularly strong. Outside though, they can see the remnants of whoever "kidnapped" the king, little cartoony midget medieval swordsmen in primitive animal skins. He scratches his head, baffled.]
Man, maybe I should of made my own instead of this lame preset...
Yeah, if you mean they're gunna menacingly bite my ankles. [He doesn't look impressed, but subsequently freaks out when one of them decides to charge him and try to take a swing at him. He dodges out of the way, but falls on his behind.]
Woaaaahhhh!!! What the hell, dude?! You could kill someone with that thing-!
[Rei blinks when it comes charging up, and skips back a few steps before drawing back the bow and taking a shot. The arrow sticks in the little guy before he can keep attacking, and he flops over and vanishes in a pile of pixels.]
Apparently! That looked really sharp. [A sigh.] You said this was a Preset?
Yeah- [He says with exasperation, because that was hella lame of him...] I thought it would be faster just to use something they already set up.
[He picks himself up, brushes himself off, and stares down at the other remaining minion. It freaks out, and starts to run.]
Hell no, you're gunna pay for this! Get back here! [He doesn't go running off without Rei, but he does want to give chase so he could get revenge for making him look like a loser.]
[She follows, drawing out another arrow and advancing slowly, keeping him between her and the monster. If it was going to stab someone, it may as well stab the meatier of the two of them. She knew first aid, so it'd be okay, Yosuke.
[She doesn't answer more than that, she just skips backwards a step and fires a quick shot over his shoulder. The arrow takes the leader, pinning him to the ground and disintegrating him.]
[This was his chance to look cool, kunai at the ready since that shot Rei took seemed to upset them. It's also time for semi-serious mode.]
Hey. Let's let them come to us. You mow 'em down, I'll take care of whatever gets through.
[And he readies himself and tries to look all awesome while he does it. And as if on cue, they charge the duo, their swords raised and little midget cries sound.]
[Rei nods, drawing back the bow with a creak. Firing off arrow after arrow, she does her best to keep him covered, but backing up periodically to be sure she isn't pinned down.]
Noooooo problem! [Brandishing his kunai, he takes on the little fur covered midget thing and somehow, successfully blocks a swing from his opponent. Not without realizing that despite all the fighting they'd done in the TV world, he still had a ways to go in the strength department.
Heaving the sword out of the way, he goes in quickly for a kill with a quick swipe of his kunai, making it explode into pixels.]
See what I mean? [He didn't look all that cool while he did it though.]

[Probably.
She'll wait patiently, eyeing the commands he inputs cautiously. But everything seems in order, and he didn't press any buttons labeled Instant Death so...]
As I'll ever be. Let's get started.

Yeah, that's not helpful.
no subject
Hey! [She snaps her hands together, clapping them hard to draw the little critters attention.]
Calm down and tell me what's going on. We'll help, but you have to give us more direction than just pointing. Who was taken? And by who?
no subject
Come on, I think they're programmed to just spaz out. I bet we gotta make our way down to the basement to get to the last level. That's kinda how these games work. [Depending on what game you play.]

[She looks annoyed at the creatures, but unslings her bow.]
I guess there will be monsters on the way to the basement, then?
no subject
[He glances behind him as they walk out, heading towards the huge double doors that would lead them out of the chamber and to the first level.]
Well yeah, what fun is a game if there isn't stuff in between? There should be a mid-level boss too, somewhere around here.
no subject
Did you give yourself a weapon too? Or are you going to go hand to hand with it?
no subject
I got these babies right here. After that freaky carnival, I don't go anywhere without 'em!
no subject
Are you any good with them?
no subject
[He winks as he tries to do some kind of fancy trick with them- and ends up almost dropping one of the kunai because he is super smooth.]
no subject
Is this the sort of game where we have a...class?
no subject
[He embarrassingly keeps a better grip on his kunai.]

Well, I don't know. They might look menacing in the right light. I guess though, we're supposed to dispatch them?

CERES has some interesting ideas, then.
[She follows, drawing out another arrow and advancing slowly, keeping him between her and the monster. If it was going to stab someone, it may as well stab the meatier of the two of them. She knew first aid, so it'd be okay, Yosuke.

He sees the room has a dozen of the devil munchkins in it.]
Uhhh...Rei?
[The one he'd been chasing turns around, and sticks its tongue out at him, raising its sword and pointing it at Yosuke.]
no subject
[She doesn't answer more than that, she just skips backwards a step and fires a quick shot over his shoulder. The arrow takes the leader, pinning him to the ground and disintegrating him.]

[And as she says this two more break around him and go for her. She'll probably get one without help, but two? That's pushing it. She isn't Legolas.]
