No. Not Mamoru-san or Ami. It's our other friend, Makoto Kino.

She's very tall, with dark brown hair, and she's a cook. A good one. Better than me by leaps and bounds.

I didn't see her at the asylum.

But this is good, right? I'm glad you have more friends with you now!

I found her and got her out as fast as possible.

It is good, though. Sort of. I mean, she shouldn't have to be trapped here, should she?

She shouldn't, you're right. But her presence makes things less lonely for you, so that's... kind of good.

See? That's why it's good to have her here! I bet Usagi's ecstatic, too.

Food is great, too! But I'll have you know that I'm not starving.

Usagi is always ecstatic. That's her natural state of being.

And you may not be starving but her food is as good as Archer's.

[ well, this certainly took a turn. athena's mood has dropped, and she doesn't want to text anymore. ]

Call me when you're home. I don't really want to type up the story.

[Ten minutes later...

Ring ring ring ring ring, Athena phone.]

Alright so what happened?

[ by the time rei calls, athena's just flopped up on her bed. she's a bit lazy when she grabs her cerevice, and she just puts the device by her ear and leaves it there. her hand moves back down on the sheets of her bed. ]

Hi. [ rei will be able to tell that her energy is low just by how she's greeted. ] Archer threatened to get rid of Merlin before he left.

[Good thing Rei was tired too, and didn't just show up.

She sounds perplexed though... ]

He what now?

[psycholawgy]

Yeah... [ it comes out more like a sigh, though. ] I mean, I knew he didn't like him. When he found out about us, the first thing he told me was to break up with Merlin... but he went too far this time.

[faithfulflame]

Did he give any reason? Archer doesn't do anything without a reason, Athena.

[He was coldly logical at times.]

He said Merlin was a jerk. The one from his world, anyway... I told him to just get to know Merlin so he'd change his mind, but he didn't do it.

[faithfulflame]

Well can you blame him for being cautious? Athena, Merlin...is as a concept...someone who has attained enduring status as a powerful sorcerer. His name is literally synonymous with wizardry. Have you ever considered what Mages are like in Archer's world? At all. Ever?

That's not a good enough reason for Archer to threaten Merlin. He should have tried to talk to Merlin properly instead. I know he lacks social skills and all, but that doesn't mean he can't play nice.

[faithfulflame]

Athena. Mages in his world are borderline evil. I know, I've been inside his head. That's reason enough for him to be careful.

And when has he ever played nice? I'm sure he was just giving Merlin the...talk...that people give when they start dating someone they care about.

No, it's not. He's being judgmental. I know some murderers in this place, but that doesn't mean I've sent them to prison.

And what do you mean by that?

When people date people, isn't it common for friends of one to give a 'shovel talk' ? The whole "if you hurt her I'll bury you" kind of thing?

What? How come he didn't do that with Simon, then? How come nobody told me stuff?

[faithfulflame]

Probably because Simon Blackquill was as protective of you as Archer is.

I assumed you knew that was normal, personally. I can't speak for anyone else.
