Rei will close out the feed and head to the smoothie shop. When she arrives, she's actually heralded by two enormous Japanese crows. Phobos and Deimos flap down out of the sky and land on her shoulders after giving a cursory pass to Rayfa, almost like they're doing an air show.]

Hello again, Rayfa-chan. I hope you weren't waiting long.

Pets? No, they're friends. My oldest friends.

Phobos and Deimos. [She taps each one in turn, and both birds bow in greeting.]

And this is Rayfa. She's from the same world as Maya-chan and Phoenix-san.

[ WAITS FOR THE BIRDS TO ACTUALLY SPEAK... ]

[They croak cheerfully, but say nothing intelligible. ]

[ oh! that's curious. the compliment is nice, but she's more fascinated by how rei can understand them. she has a pet frog and she speaks for the frog at times, but this feels different. ]

Do you truly understand them?

I do, yes. They're able to speak to me, and always have been.

Is that weird for you?

[ she looks at the birds again, examining them carefully. ]

[The two birds chirp, bow, and take off with a lazy flap of their wings, heading west.]

I have not. [ she blinks curiously, though. nahyuta seemed to like it, so she should do the same. ] Khura'inese food are also filled with spices. I am certain that my palate will not complain.

[The burger place isn't far off. It's called El Tigre's Hamburguesas, and they definitely have some jalapeno burgers.]

I haven't had that kind before, myself, but I'll give it a try too.

[Taking a seat by a window, she checks over the menu.]

Order whatever you'd like. Just mind the spice levels on the menu.

[One to nine, each named after a different layer of Hell, the hottest being Cocytus, so hot it freezes your nerves.]

[The waiter nods and sets off. Rei is not so foolhardy as to go farther than that.]

What sort of ceremonies do you partake in?

Well, the primary ones I take part in and run are dances to invoke the kami, or gods of the land. I also perform rites of purification and fortune telling. I can read flames to discover the future, for instance.

Weddings and funerals are something my grandfather performs, and are traditionally handled by male priests.
